Bigger problems than ogg
Ok,
After following BJ's advice and removing ogg.so I then got a
pbx_realtime.so error in the same fashion. I removed that file, and
then the next and then the next as you can see in the log below.
I think something is not right. duh here is my sign..lol...but I am
not sure even where this ast_register_file_version flag is in a config
file or what step I have missed. I am doing a VOIP only

ogg causing me heart burn
Dear forum,
I have a install of asterisk using AMP. I followed the install guide
off the AMP site.
http://amp.coalescentsystems.ca/docs/AMP_Installation_Guide_v1.4.pdf
When I start using amportal start or asterisk -ccccv I received this in my log.
The last line is that ogg failed. I have found nothing on the web
about this, and I am not even sure where to start troubleshooting.
Any help

Voice mail does not contain a time?
Hello,
When a voice message is saved and e-mailed as a wav, the total time of the
voice mail does not show up in, e.g., windows media player, why is this?
I have only used wav49/wav:
; Use wav49 format for all voicemail messages

Voicemail volume wav vs. wav49
There's a been a long standing issue with voicemail volume levels for files
saved in WAV49 format as compared to WAV format. WAV49 is much smaller in
emails and that's great, but it's also less than half the volume level than
the exact same voicemail saved in WAV format. I've seen this mentioned by
several others over the years in the mailing list -- has there been any

Cannot leave voicemail, Asterisk/Zaptel/libpi v1.0.9
Hi,
I'm running two boxes side by side, identical specs and setup but with differing
dialplans. Both are on ast/zap/libpri versions 1.0.9. Both boxes share the same
folder for voicemail, exported via NFS from another file server.
Everything was working fine for an extended period of time, until just recently
when someone rebooted Box A. Now when I dial an extension associated with a SIP

voicemail email messages
I am having problems with * voicemail emails. It will only mail out the
gsm encoded messages. I would really like it to use the wav49 format to
make it easier on my user's. I have tried specifying it with just wav49,
and like wav49|gsm. It emails nothing, but if I set it to gsm|wav49 then
sure enough it emails it out.
According to the wiki it should send whatever is specified first. Anyone

wav49 size for a 3 minute voicemail
Hi, I tried to find a reference in terms of size but got back a bunch
of tech documents and couldn't get the idea of wav49 format.
wav49 format is supposed to be half the size of a normal wav right?
so, how much disk space takes to save one minute of audio in wav49?
I trying to do some capacity planning for a voicemail server.

Convert a file from WAV to WAV49 or GSM for Asterisk
I would like to convert a file to WAV49 for use with Asterisk using
the linux command line. Specifically I would like to upload sounds to
use for unavail.wav and busy.wav, but I'd like them to be compressed
so that space is not wasted.
I tried using SOX but havent found the correct command-line options to
make it or Asterisk happy.
Ideas?

playing wav49/gsm files on linux?
How can I play wav49 or gsm voicemail files on FC6? Nothing seems to
play them (hxplay, xine, mplayer, etc). I think I have all the normal
codec packages installed.
I can play regular wav files, but they're too big.

Blank Voicemails
Hi, we're running Asterisk 1.2.10 and have been randomly being left
blank voicemails with long messages that we can't hear.
I've searched and searched but cannot find a solution.
This is what happens:
Internal Server runs Asterisk 1.2.10 where our mailboxes are
Incoming Server (behind a firewall) runs Asterisk 1.2.13 and calls are
bridged between this server and our internal server.

Voicemail2
Asterisk Users:
I've been working hard on app_voicemail2 which is an enhanced scalability
version of app_voicemail. Specifically, its features are:
* Highly improved internal architecture (maybe someone else can
actually code on it)
* Foot print for getting mailboxes from DB (for Vonage)
* Segmentable mailboxes, allowing you to truly multihost
voicemail for multiple companies

voicemail recording format
Dear asterisk users,
I am presently playing with an asterisk@home. I am trying to find the
best codec solution for my voicemail records. I want to use ARI
(Asterisk Recording Interface) to read the messages. I first used the
default wav encoding that was not appropriate because my navigator does
not handle wav mime types correctly and I have difficulties playing wav
files in my basic linux

Increase VoiceMail Messages Recording Gain - Audio Calls are Ok
Hi all
I'm deploying a VoiceMailserver with Asterisk behind a legacy pbx,
providing Voicemail to email services for Lecagy PBX extensions.
On busy or unanswered calls, Legacy pbx will dial a specific DID (one per
extension) to asterisk, and the call is handled by Voicemail application.
I've several SIP extensions on this Asterisk box, and calls between Asterisk
extensions and legacy PBX
