similar to: Nortel IP phone i2002 - DHCP server unreachable

Hello, is it possible to connect a Nortel i2004, (i2002) IP Phone to an * PBX? I have seen on the net that there should be an SIP firmware aviable for the phone, anyone an idea where to get it? Because orginally they use a own protocol to connect to an Meridian, BCM or CSE1K. Another idea is to write a module for * that can handle this protocol. bye SLiME

Well I am entering into a realm that I don't know. 3 sites with Asterisk 1 site with Nortel Asterisk/Sip calls working fine between the 3 sites. Asterisk to Nortel set calls working fine. (call comes from asterisk to nortel and rings telephone, people answer and talk happens, hangup call clears) Nortel to Asterisk. Set on Nortel gets a busy signal. Any suggestions on what to look

We are currently working to trunk from a Nortel 81C to an Asterisk Server 1.4 running on Red Hat Linux. We have two PRI trunks which work with the exception of the clock slips, which is causing the Nortel to reset the PRIs once a hour. I am trying to integrate a Nortel Norstar system with an Asterisk service using a TDM04B card (4 fxo). So far everyting works from Asterisk to Nortel. The problem is when someone dials from the Nortel PBX to the Asterisk server. Asterisk answers the call and provides a dialtone (with DISA) but appartently the DTMF tones are not passed to asterisk and the call cannot proceed. This only

folk, I see from the archives that the issue of nortel handsets not sending dtmf tones to asterisk has been discussed a couple of times, but there is something I quite havent seen answered yet. Is this dtmf issue a problem with the nortel handsets or the PBX itself? If the handset were changed to another one, would this issue be solved? Or must the PBX be changed completely? rgds eb

Has anyone fed a Nortel BCM from Asterisk? I'm interested in switching our company over, but don't want to replace all the handsets in one fell swoop. I imagine some of the PRI cards can "emulate" a switch? I'd still like to pass CallerID into the Nortel, etc but all the external traffic would be VOIP, not TDM.
