Few questions about Asterisk
Hello, I have few questions about Asterisk. I installed Asterisk from CVS on FreeBSD and I made cvsup 2 days ago. 1.I couldn't find Asterisk version using "asterisk -V" command. How can I to find version information? 2.I am using Wildcard X101P (FXO) and Wildcard TDM400P REV E/F (FXS)on it. I tried Asterisk CallerID feature, but unable to get it. I tried callerid signaling V23,

Swiss IP10S using SIP
Has anyone had success getting the Swiss IP10S and the SIP ( IP10 SP v0.0.1 (Build 4)) firmware working with Asterisk? If so do you have copies of what worked in sip.conf and phone configuration files? I can't seem to get the phone to register, it tries but is denied with a Forbidden (which I am guessing is authentication). I tried without a secret, but the phone seems to use swissvoice

link_elf: symbol cam_simq_alloc undefined
Hello, I'm trying to upgrade from 5-stable to 6-stable; after rebooting to the new kernel, the amr(4) module (amr.ko) refuses to load with this message: link_elf: symbol cam_simq_alloc undefined However, a quick nm(1) on /boot/kernel/cam.ko does show: ... 0000f0ac T cam_sim_set_path 0000efc4 T cam_simq_alloc 0000efd4 T cam_simq_free ... and cam.ko is already loaded before amr.ko.

problems with TDM400P
Hi, We have two of these 4 port FXO cards. However, we are having some problems with incoming/outgoing calls. The latest version of Asterisk/zaptel from CVS is being used. Voicemail, internal SIP <-> SIP calls between Pingtel xpressa hard phones work terrific, echotest is fine, and so on. The zaptel and wcfxs modules load fine, and show all 8 FXO interfaces in dmesg:

Bad FXS Module?
I apparently have a dead FXS module. Is there any kind of test I can run on it (on a live system) to determine if its good or bad? The telephone has no dialtone, gets no calls. It has been working for several months, and just quit yesterday. Thanks! Found a Wildcard TDM: Wildcard TDM400P REV I (4 modules) Freshmaker version: 73 Freshmaker passed register test Module 0: Installed -- AUTO

Postgis on Rails
For those of you looking to add some spatial functionality to your Ruby or Ruby on Rails app, there''s a new project called GeoRuby. It''s pretty new (at v0.0.1), but the basic functionality works and it''s available under the fab MIT license. There was some interest in this on the postgis-users list, so I figured the Rails list might like to know too. Check out:

Zaptel modules load, but Asterisk fails at startup
I'm running Asterisk on a Gentoo box with the Zaptel 1.2.1 drivers. If I boot the machine without having the wcfxs module autoload, then install the module with modprobe, asterisk works just fine. If I boot the machine and autoload the wcfxs module, the module loads fine: > Jan 11 11:06:55 asterisk Zapata Telephony Interface Registered on major 196 > Jan 11 11:06:55 asterisk ACPI: PCI

No matter what I do, I've tried now three different motherboards, my TDM400P keeps giving 'Freshmaker failed register test' after emitting a list of xx != 00 errors. Anyone have any clues for me? I'm wondering if I got a bad module or what. TIA -- Undocumented Features quote of the moment... "It's not the one bullet with your name on it that you have to worry about;
