Stopping and restarting Asterisk will lose the hints, then you will have to wait until the phone registers again. With 1.2.7.1 a reload shouldn't lose anything. Change the register time on the phones to something less that 60 minutes if it's a big problem. Instead of factory defaulting the phones you might find a simple restart will re-register the phone and BLF will work on the phone.

Can anyone who has used both comment on the pros and cons ? Need to buy about 30 of these, for a small company with limited IT support. Hello, I configured both asterisk and grandstream 2000 accourding to howtos on the web.. And everything seems working fin. But if i reload asterisk grandstream stops working with BLF. I need to restart the phone to enable BLF again. Any clues??

Is there a way to set/clear a BLF LED on a phone from the dialplan? I want to use one as an indicator of some state in the PBX - in this case it's "night mode" but I can think of other applications. Many desk phones support multiple simultaneous SIP registrations. You could use BLF buttons for each SIP registration and the operator uses the LEDs as their queue as to which account is ringing. Alternatively the phone's UI may be able to indicate which account is ringing without the need for BLFs. Another option is to re-write the CALLERID(num) or CALLERID(name) to indicate the inbound line

Hi, I need to make use of BLF feature on Aastra 6757i phones but its an Asterisk 1.4 using realtime architecture. Extensions are defined in realtime database and dial plan is in AEL.
