All Circuits are Busy Now
I have downloaded and installed Asterisk@home and I have installed X-Lite on my Windows machine and I am able to connect it to the Asterisk server. I went ahead an created an account on Broadvoice today and followed the directions on http://voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+settings+Broadvoice and http://foo.robotics.net/mediawiki-1.3.10/index.php/Asterisk_Setup but when ever I try and make a call from

Dual Line SIP config to the same provider
Hi, I have a setup where I have multiple lines to the same provider - in this case broadvoice. I have created the entries in sip.conf for both accounts - and independently they work fine. When they both are in use, incomming calls are placed to the one that's the last in the sip.conf file. On voip-info I found the following: *Quote:* When Asterisk receives an incoming SIP call, the SIP

Managing the spiralling costs
I have been using the inbound 800 services from vitelity. Slowly the usage has been rising and in the month of Jan the bill was for $650. I am currently on a 1.9 cents a minute plan. Am I paying too much ? Some suggestions my team generated to reduce the toll free incoming call bill were: 1. When people call in on the 800 number take the local number they are calling from and then call them back

Sip usage and busy? (BroadVoice related)
Ok, here's a couple of fun ones: 1. I'm using BroadVoice for most of my outgoing calls. When I call a number that's busy, I usually just get silence for a few seconds (dial-timeout). The 486 response doesn't come back until much later. When I use Vonage's SoftPhone line for this, the 486 comes back instantly. Could this be my config, or should I ask BroadVoice for help?

jitterbuffer and DTMF conflict?
I find that DTMF does not work reliably if jitterbuffer=on for certain IAX providers. For instance, DTMF tones are missed entirely about half the time when I dial into an exgn.net account. However, it always works fine for an unlimitel.ca account. Someone else has seen this too: http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=6011 Can anyone suggest a workaround (other than jitterbuffer=off)? - Mike

integrated voip originator, to digitize audio once and only once?
Calling 7777 from a local extension on my local network, I get good voice quality from asterisk, and asterisk reliably recognizes my dtmf input. I set up a sipphone trunk (free) and called in to it via a separate sipphone account on another computer, and got slightly lower, but still good, audio quality. I set up a FWD trunk (free) and called in from the other computer, and got somewhat lower

prevent non-free calls
Dear Asterisk-Users, does anyone know how to prevent non-free calls to Broadvoice Unlimited World ? This first thing I did is I accept only that coutry prefixes (in extensions.conf) that are in the Unlimited World dialplan. I was also able to filter out german cell phones (cause they begin with 1 and no landline is beginning with 1). US is also no problem as cell phone calls are unlimited

Still no Broadvoice Outbound. (Bump)
I'm still not getting my outbound to work. I've seen two patches relevant to broadvoice for chan_sip.c which apparently have already been added to CVS. I'm dropping all outgoing calls after ~30 secs. Asterisk doesn't seem to know they're gone though. I called my cell w/ broadvoice and turned on sip debug AFTer the call had physically dropped: *CLI> sip show registry

Asterisk & Broadvoice Incoming Calls Problems
Hi, i'm having problems with broadvoice incoming calls. I can perfectly place calls but my Asterisk Box is having problems when registering with the SIP Proxy. Sometimes it register and the call gets into asterisk, but without sound (seems to be NAT problems) and sometimes its not possible for asterisk to receive the calls. Everything was working great exactly for a month, but a week ago it

BroadVoice - "Failed to authenticate on INVITE" error
I'm experiencing a "Failed to authenticate on INVITE" error (see output below) whenever I try to MAKE a call through the Broadvoice account. I noticed some others had the same problem but it went away when they rebuilt Asteris w/ a new version. N such luck for me! I'd be grateful for any assitance. Here's what I've done so far: 1) I downloaded the latest stable

Asterisk to Broadvoice SIP peer fails in 1.6.9-beta9
In a 1.2 release of asterisk, I've had no problem connecting to a Broadvoice SIP peer, to allow routing outgoing calls from Asterisk to Broadvoice. Now, with the same SIP configuration, I cannot establish the peer. I've enclosed a SIP log in the hope that someone can help me analyze this failure. I'd guess the issue is NAT related and wondering if someone can spot a problem in the

Phone Emergency - Need IAX Help
SBC has an outage that is expected to last until tomorrow in our area. This has taken out our 5 POTS lines and our T1. I have signed up with EXGN for outbound calls and am using IAX. Calls ring through to the other party (my cell phone in this case) but Asterisk doesn't seem to think the call was answered. Ideas? -dave

Speex fans?
Hi all, I've been testing various codecs to eliminate "choppiness" that I sometimes get on my Asterisk IAX2 <> DSL <> provider (Exgn) connections, and Speex seems to work the best, so far - but Speex seems oddly unpopular. Can anyone share their experiences with Speex (good and bad)? Is anyone using it in a production environment? I like the variable bit rate and

weird outbound problem through broadvoice (new)
Hello, Have a weird problem when using asterisk (1.0.6). There are certain numbers I cannot dial when using asterisk with my broadvoice account. No problems with inbound. With outbound calls, I can call some numbers (for example broadvoice customer support number) and unsuccessfully with some. However, when I configure my account directly on x-lite, I dont see these outbound problems. Here is a

Broadvoice outgoing problems
Hello All, I'm just getting into *, and trying to use a Broadvoice account. It works inbound, but Outbound fails no matter what sip.conf parameters I try. From the recent posts here I think it could be: A bad CVS release - I will try to download and build from a new one Broadvoice not challenging and/or Asterisk not responding with an Authorization: in the INVITE header. I am

Broadvoice latest changes and still not working- An Additional Server
I have been going crazy with this also since Sat. Our server was working perfectly with BV but will now not place calls to BV. Incoming from BV works fine. I felt sad rebooting it today, it had been running for almost 200 days! Here is my error message from the console... Notice I am running today's CVS Connected to Asterisk CVS-03/08/05-14:32:39 currently running on com (pid = 1624)

Dial out through Broadvoice
Hello all, When I call the Broadvoice number all is good. When I try to call out through DISA on my broadvoice line i get the following: Executing Dial("SIP/147.135.0.129-0815bc60", "SIP/16037862111@proxy.bos.broadvoice.com|30") in new stack -- Called 16037862111@proxy.bos.broadvoice.com -- Got SIP response 480 "Temporarily Not Available" back from

SIP configuration issues
Apologies if this is a repeat: I trawled through the archives and couldn't find a reasonable answer, so I'm asking here. I have an Asterisk install connecting from behind a NAT device (DSL modem) to a SIP proxy (in my case, Broadvoice). I have an sjphone softphone on a Windows PC also behind the NAT device that connects to the Asterisk install, and using this setup I've been pretty

Sip 400 bad request - broadvoice error
I have searched the list and cannot find a sip 400 solution posted that solves my problem. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on the following I would greatly appreciate it. I didn't have this error before Broadvoice made their changes this weekend. Now when I make a call it connects but, I cannot hear anything on the other end... USING TWO ACCOUNTS WITH BROADVOICE
Hi, I have two accounts with broadvoice. Now, I want to be able to distinguish between them. I though that this would be simple by adding "/EXTEN" at the end of the register statement. For example: register => num1:pass@sip.broadvoice.com/1000 Unfortunately, this is not working. When I call into my box I hear busy tone. My config looks like this: [root@voip asterisk]# cat sip.conf
