The current SCCP image on the 7942 phone is :SCCP42.9-0-2SR1S.
We are trying to convert/upgrade the phone to SIP version of the firmware i.e : cmterm-7942_7962-sip.9-0-3
(Firmware is downloaded from the cisco support site).
We have unzipped and placed all the files in the /tftp (root directory) of tftp server.

Cisco 7970 SIP upgrade issues
Dear Asterisk People,
I am having problems putting a SIP image on a 7970. I was wondering if anyone can help?
First problem is the phone is running version
Load IDJar70.2-5-47-17.sbn
Boot Load ID7970_64054100.bin Version5.0(0.6S)
So I did read that you couldn't simply put the latest SIP image on such an old phone and a newer firmware version should be used.

instructions to get .bin firmware for 7920
Cisco no longer offers a zip file with the firmware in it, only an EXE
file. If you use Winrar, you can unzip the exe. Pull out the
following files and drop them somewhere:
data1.hdr
data1.cab
data2.cab
Download i6comp. If you search on google, it's all over the place.
From the command line, run:
i6comp e -r data1.cab
This reassembles the CAB's and unpacks all of the files out of

Unprovisioned 7961
Hi Everyone,
I am having some issues getting my 7961 working with Trixbox. I have loaded
the SIP code (8-3-3SR2) fine but when the phone boots up it goes into an
unprovisioned state. A status message shows up and says ?Error Verifying
Config Info?.
I have read quite a bit on this topic (getting 7961?s to work with Asterisk
and TB) and only came across a few postings where other people

Cisco IP Phones and Skinny in asterisk
Hi All;
Can anyone advise if using Cisco IP Phones in skinny protocol is fine or not? Or it is better to use it in SIP protocol?

Cisco CallManager Image for 7940/7960
Does anyone have the .bin file(s) to convert a Cisco 7940/7960 back to the CallManager image?
I want to start playing around with the chan_skinny addition, but it seems the .exe's from cisco want to open a connection to a SQL server or CallManager (which I don't have).

Anyone can share their config file for Cisco phone please?
I have an *ipphone 7965G* which has to be connected to Asterisk. It has been
flashed with SIP firmware but the config file doesn't seem to work maybe I
am missing something in it.
I appreciate it if you can share your working sample config file with me.
Thanks
