I finally got around to compiling the Rails 1.1.2 Documentation into a CHM file this morning. You can download the file directly from here: http://delynnberry.com/files/rails-documentation-1-1-2.chm. Let me know if you encounter any problems with the file. -- DeLynn Berry delynn@gmail.com http://delynnberry.com

wine and windows help
I'm trying to determine if it's possible to use the help system of windows applications running under wine and what I might need to do before it works. I just started using wine again after a long hiatus. I only run one application under wine, xmlspy. I'd like to get its help system working under wine. If I select anything from the help menu nothing happens right now. Is it supported?

Opening/associating help files with native viewer, Mac OS X
Hi all, I'm running the latest version of Wine for Mac OS X and I'd like to have help files open automatically with my native CHM viewer, iChm. The command to open files from the OS X command line is pretty simple, and works fine for me. I tried to follow the steps on the FAQ under 'I want to associate some Linux program with a file type in Wine

Serial port woes
I am trying to get an app called GMWIN running. It installs and runs, but it cannot communicate via the serial ports. It is a controller for PLCs, and its purpose is to talk to PLCs via serial ports, so this is essential... Here's the error I am getting (the NIY-hEvent is repeated many times): [i386]yan@TravelSlug:~$ wine "c:/gmwin_4/gmwin" err:thunk:_loadthunk (DLL16.DLL,

Windows help (winhlp32)
Is there a way of getting an application to use the Windows native winhlp32.exe? Although I've replaced the exe in c:\windows and c:\windows\system32 my application (Borland Paradox7) still invokes the Wine help (which is broken as it doesn't display the Contents and Search and is full of 'not yet implemented' messages). So I assume the DDI call from Paradox is being routed to

Strange window behavior
I run several programs under Wine. Specifically, I'm running the win32 half-life server, hlds.exe, and the program TotalCommander, a windows file manager program. If I try to minimze either of these programs, they minimize and immediately pop back up again. Is there a way to stop this from happening so that when I minimze them, they minimize and stay minimized? -------------- next part

Hello! I'm trying to install the software "Garmin City Navigator Europe NT v9" for a Garmin StreetPilot c510 - a GPS navigation device. When I run the installer in wine 0.9.26 on Gentoo, it finally errors out with a useless error message in the GUI. On the starting terminal I find: err:msi:cabinet_notify failed to create L"c:\\windows\\system32\\ROBOEX32.DLL" (error 5)

com ports
Hi everyone, I am in the last stages of converting my business to Linux. All software is now open-source or running under wine. Except one. The software supplied by my bank. This runs fine under wine apart from the dialup to the bank. No matter what settings I use for the modem, I always get the message that the modem cannot be initialised. Here's what I have confirmed so far: The com port

World Of Warcraft
Hi, I am sure there where a lot of questions to this toppic already but I would like to ask if someone has the same problems. I looked a bit in the archieve with no result. I usually set my wine config up with winesetuptk. There I can choose between Managed and unmanaged Windowmanagement. (If the windowing is controlled by X or by wine.) Now both work great. My only Problem is that I have a
