Interesting Conference Request - Can this be done ?
Hi List,
I have a client that has an interesting request. He wants to have people call in to a conference room and all be able to talk however they should not hear each other. There should be admin access to for one user to call in and be able to listen in to everyone that is talking (they may want this admin to be able to talk to).
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

I don't mean to be a troll in any way shape or form. I was on IRC last night and I observed the following convo. below. What do you guys make of it ?
[02:14] <bkw__> Let me tell you how chidlish digium and Mark Spencer is. I walk into a restaurant with them all here at Astricon wearing my sangoma shirt and he asked me to leave.

Semi-OT Part 2: Videophone
Following the recommendations here I've ordered a couple different
Polycom & Aastra phones to play with speaker phones.
One of our next big projects is Video. I know Grandstream has a video
phone, has anyone used it. Anyone have any other recommendations?
Thanks,
Ken

Mute conference participants
Hi,
Looking at
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/ConfBridge+Configuration there
is an option for admin_toggle_mute_participants however the non admin users
can still toggle toggle_mute. Is there any option for the admin to disallow
non admins from using toggle_mute to unmute themselves? If there isn't such
an option on there any devs here that can ping me off line what it would

Help with FUNC_MATH
My Apologies Dovid, I think I misunderstood your request.
You don't have the time you need to convert in the format of date string,
Instead you have your users entering via DTMF when they want something to
happen?

Bare Metal vs Containers/vms
Hi All,
I vaguely remember someone at Astricon making the case for having multiple
containers/vps each running asterisk vs using asterisk direct on bare
metal. Something about getting better performance. Does anyone have any
insight on this?
TIA and stay safe
Dovid
PS I know vps != containers I just don’t recall if the argument was for
vps, containers or both instead of installing direct on

Lightweight ODBC DB
Glenn,
I can't use MySQL as each node currently has MySQL however there is a lot
of data that is stored locally on each box. I may have to take this route
if I can't find something else but that would mean syncing all sorts of
data that does not need to be synced.

Lost outgoing SIP packets
Hi Roel
Just guessing: do you have conntrack enabled?
If not, "modprobe nf_conntrack_netlink" (you can remove it and its dependencies
later)
What are the outputs of
sysctl net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_count
and
sysctl net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_max
when the problem shows up?
cheers

Redis in place of astdb
Dovid, You could use func_odb + a ODBC Redis driver to keep from having to
shell out.

asterisk + door opener
Thers a box we can get here in Australia that has an RJ45 plug, a built
in web server that has a config page and URL's to close/open one of 4
included relays. I use phpagi to hit the url and open/close doors that
way. If anyone is interested, ill let you know URL's but its being sold
from our local Jaycar agent.
Regards
Kevin
