Is AsteriskNow 2 solid?
Hi, I currently have some systems on AsteriskNOW 1.7 & have been happy with its clean simplicity & reliability. Are many people here using AsteriskNOW 2.0.x? How do you feel about it? Did Digium stick with their previous philosophy of keeping everything very vanilla & making it clean & simple for someone who understands how to manage CentOS, FreePBX, tftp, ntpd, etc. but

Rolled Distro?
Hi folks, I've been a trixbox user for a few years now but I'm thinking about jumping ship. Trixbox is great, but it's missing two features out of the box which are really important to me: outbound faxing (hylafax) and imap voicemail. I see no indication that they will be included anytime in the near future, so I have a choice to make - I've looked around at Elastix,

Today's problem: Inbound call routing
O.K., so AsteriskNow 1.4.26.2, FreePBX 2.6.0RC2.1 We have a Digium TE205P connected to a single span if ISDN PRI. The Telco has assigned us two local numbers to test incoming calls. I created an inbound route for one of those DID's and assigned it to one of our extensions. Sounds simple enough. Too simple, apparently, when I dial the number the caller gets a recording that it's a

AsteriskNOW Migration
I currently have a customer that a previous employee setup with Gentoo\Asterisk. I'm looking to migrate to AsteriskNOW. They have a custom menu, which I would assume is easily replicable in AsteriskNOW. The only other thing I can think of is the sound bites for the menus. Does anyone have any advise or migration recommendations for this move? -------------- next part

CallerID on Indian PSTN is not working.
Hi, I am using asterisknow 1.5.0 and Wildcard TDM410P card. Everything is working fine except the caller ID of incoming call from PSTN line. The phone display is showing "Unknown" when there is an incoming call. I think the same problem listed here: https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=6683 There is one patch on this link but i don't know how to apply patch on asterisknow.

Upgrade from 1.0.x to AsteriskNOW 3.0
Hello all. I was hoping someone out there might have some advice or suggestions regarding an upgrade from an archaic Asterisk version. I've been given the daunting task of upgrading a very old Asterisk-1.0.x install to a recent LTS version. I'll also need the install to have high-availability and failover support. From my research, it would appear that AsteriskNOW-3.0 might be my

FreePBX 2.1.0: Manually rewriting extensions_additional.conf
Figuring I knew what I was doing (I didn't - surprise) I added a totally unnecessary line in /etc/asterisk/extensions_additional.conf a couple of days ago. Troubleshooting a dialing rule issue, I'm now realizing that FreePBX is updating its database with the new settings but is not rewriting/updating extensions_additional.conf with the changes I'm making. I've tried renaming the

inboun routing based on area aode
I am currently using AsteriskNow v2. What I am trying to accomplish is having all calls from an area code go directly to the person responsible for that area. While searching for a solution for this I did come across a post that had a few examples. So Josh at extension 1902 would receive all calls from the 808 area code. exten => s,1,GotoIf($${CALLERIDNUM:0:3}" = "808?1902|1)

AsteriskNOW 1.5 upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6
This link (http://blogs.digium.com/2008/10/13/asterisknow-15-beta-available-more-coming-soon/ ) seems to indicate that in order to upgrade AsteriskNOW v1.5 from Asterisk 1.4 to 1.6, it's as easy as installing an upgrade package. Does anyone know where to find that upgrade package? If it doesn't yet exist, what is the process for upgrading?

AsteriskNow install addons despite license conflict with FFA and G.729
Hello, We installed AsteriskNOW (Asterisk version 1.6.2.19) and purchased FFA and G.729 licenses and installed them successfully. When we tried to install asterisk addons (we need the CDRs), we get license conflict error messages. Searching google, we see that there's a way to force install the addons, but that "way" isn't properly detailed, so we didn't manage to do it.

No ringback even though progressinband=yes is set
Any ideas on why callers who call into my customer's SIP trunk are not hearing a ringback tone? I had this on one other asterisk system, and wound up needing to set progressinband=yes in the SIP trunk config. I have set this on the current system & restarted asterisk, but to no avail. I am using: AsteriskNOW distro Asterisk build is 1.6 from AsteriskNOW repository:

Quick start configuration sample for "chan_dahdi.conf"
I am really a beginner of PRI ISDN board, I am wondering if there is a "quick start" chan_dahdi.conf configuration I could use. I tried to install two "FreePBX" boxes follow the instructions from "http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/Asterisk/DahdiT1trunk.html" connected them between PRIs, It worked. And now if I refer the FreePBX "chan_dahdi.conf" it looks

Why does everyone seem to dislike *now?
Greetings, Last week I began researching Asterisk for the first time. I did what most noobs would do; downloaded an image that seemed simple and straightforward and had some credibility (*now). I also downloaded the TFOT version 1 as a guide. As questions arose, I tossed a few out in #asterisckNOW channel..and found it to be a ghost town. Only later did i start to ask a few

Does anyone have a good solution to stream hold music to the Asterisk/FreePBX server? I currently have setup WinAMP using ShoutCast but it appears to a very touch and go stream, being that it seems to periodically drop the connection. x100p not showing in core show channels
Hi, I recently decided to change my setup from AsteriskNow to plain-asterisk 1.4, which I wanted to set up and configure myself on a server running Debian Etch 64bit version. Hardware: Asrock motherboard, model 775Dual880-Pro, with a Celeron D running at 2.8GHz, 1GB memory, standard Nvidia GF4MX videocard, and one X100P clone card. Running the AsteriskNow, everything worked fine, except for
