Winetools + IE6 + WineCVS
Hello all.
I'm trying to run the above combination. Now I understand that Winetools
recommends an older version. However, I also understand that the latest
version of Wine is leagues ahead in terms of features and stability.
Problem is, I need IE6. Which doesn't install using Winetools under the
latest CVS (as in today) and I enjoy the more reliable operation that

AW: I can not install Corel Draw !!
Hello
Versions 10,11,12 and X3 aren't working yet. The only one who works (nearly clean) is Version 9. But you need some additional native dlls and wine until version 0.9.22. Version 0.9.23 - 25 have a strong regression.

[LLVMdev] MOS6502 target
Hey there!
I've started to embark on a path to try and create a backend for a 39 year old CPU with only an accumulator, two index registers, and a 256 byte stack. It does have a bank of 256 bytes before the stack that are pretty quick though.
Really, if I can get an assembler out of `llc`, that'll be success enough for me. Clang would be better, but I think that might be crazy talk.

Winetools - Java?
Hi,
I wonder if I'm just missing it. Does Winetools have any built in
support for installing Java to run under Wine?
I want to use a web site (Streetsmart.com) that is restricted to
using IE. I've got IE running under Wine but now need Java support to
continue forward.
Thanks,
Mark

winetools + proxy
Hi!
Winetools hangs trying to download arial32.exe because we have a proxy here.
Is there a way (e.g. environment variable) to tell winetools to use a proxy?
Thanks,

Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that
winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download
mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that
winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com?
I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks.

The old version works not very well with Debian, so use the attached
gettext.sh and put it somewhere into the path.

If you install the RPM of WineTools all links are created by the RPM.

More apps to Winetools-2.1.x
Hi Joachim,
The QuickTime, at the winetools-2.1.1 release, is pointing to a German
version. Would you include a english version? The URL is:

BTW, I downloaded the SplashKiller.zip and put it at the
~/winetools/user and also I've made a symbolic to ~/winetools/sys (just to

Proper way of updating winetools?
After updating from, say winetools-2.10-jo to 2.11-jo (by rpm), I can't
use the wt startup scripts like ie6, wmplayer etc. any longer, and I get
an error message similar to "winetools hasn't been configured for this
user. Run the base setup ..." But doing so would erase my ~/.wine
directory and thus destroy my old setup including all my program
installations, which of course

winetools rpm for Mandrake (test phase)
Hi,
I just proposed a binary rpm for Mandrake (in a testing phase among
Mandrake Club). I put most of winetools stuff
into /usr/share/winetools/2.1.1jo/ like for Debian. Po files are still
in the binary installation to encourage translations but they will be
suppressed by Mandrake people if in contribs. I included my proposition
of fr.po (already sent to the list) in the binary.

[Fwd: Installation and execution of Winetools with RedHat 9]
Hi Joachim,
Mea culpa! I hadn't gone right through the Base Setup before, but have
now done so. I've just tested IE6 and it works brilliantly! I'm going to
try installing some other software later, but many thanks for now!
Best regards,
Andy
