Queue stats
Greetings, list! My boss would like some statistics on how many calls are answered out of specific queues during a given time period, and I'm not sure how exactly to obtain those stats. Here's how our queue system works. 1) Call comes in and enters our 'ring' queue where the phones ring for 15 seconds (caller hears the standard ring tone). 2) After 15 seconds, the caller

Auto recording calls?
Howdy, folks. I'm having a problem finding a way to auto-record calls (both incoming and outgoing). I know how to make it so either party can initiate recording, but I want it done as soon as both ends are connected (or prior to that if that's what it takes). It's probably right in front of me and I'm just missing it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jay

Blind xfer issue -- URGENT!
Greetings, folks. I'm having a problem with blind transfers. It seems that, despite not having the T flag set, callers are able to use the blind transfer option. Scenario is this: - Asterisk 1.2.14 - Caller calls into our call center on one of our many phone numbers. - Call gets placed into queue. - Operator answers call. - Caller is able to hit our blind xfer key sequence (#0) and dial

Recording queue calls after an xfer?
I have a problem where my recorded queue calls stop recording once the call is transferred to a different extension. Is there some additional parameter I need to set so recording continues? Is it even possible to do this? Thanks, Jay

mobile centrex solution
anyone know of a solution where mobile handsets out roaming the pstn cellular network can be used and treated as full fleged centrex extentions, i.e. I can transfer a call that comes in on a wired centrex copper pair out to a cell phone and the cell phone can transfer the call back or vice versa where the cell phone recieves the call directly and can transfer to the office all without hairpinning

[OT] Centrex Question
I haven't dealt with Centrex for a long time, and one of my customers is being courted heavily by a Sprint salesperson. Am I not correct in assuming that each "line" of Centrex corresponds to an "extension" in the PBX world? This site has 2 POTS lines and 5 extensions, and they told me that for the same thing they're paying right now (~$40/POTS line) they will be

Quick Q...
Before I make any serious gaffes, is this an acceptable place to post PHPAGI questions as well? I can't seem to find a dedicated mailing list for it. If not, any suggestions? Thanks, Jay

Cannot xfer parked callers
Here's how it's currently working: 1) Call comes in 2) Operator parks call (700) 3) Operator picks up call on another phone (701) 4) Operator tries to transfer to a different phone (we use #0) but the transfer doesn't work. We can transfer initial callers all we want and it works fine. Once a call is parked, however, we can no longer transfer the caller. Any ideas? Thanks, Jay

Asterisk in a Centrex environment?
Does anyone know what would be involved in making Asterisk work as a voicemail system in a Centrex environment? We have a Centrigram voicemail system that belongs in the Smithsonian. There are analog lines coming into the box and a 56KB data feed from the phone company's switch. Peter

Asterisk behind Centrex
Hi, I'm looking at setting up an Asterisk PBX in our office, which gets its phone lines (digital signaling, analog voice) from the main campus, which uses Centrex. Does anyone know if this falls under analog or digital for hardware buying? I was looking at getting a Digium TDM-series, but apparently our lines aren't pots (due to the digital signaling). Could someone enlighten me a bit?

MixMonitor and Queues
Greetings, all. I would like to record calls that are entered into queues and I'm not quite sure how to do it. Here's how I'm currently set up: - Call comes in and is placed into Queue #1 (which rings all phones for 15 sec). - If call drops out of this queue, it is placed into Queue #2 (which plays MoH until the call is picked up). I've tinkered with MixMonitor and I have my

Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 33, Issue 12
I too was curious about this, so I copied the text into Babel Fish, and this is the result: I miss of the 2/04/2007 to the 11/04/2007. I will answer your message as of my return. For any urgency, to contact Emmanuelle Parache Moga or C?dric Buzay. If this guy is really going to be out until November these messages will get rather tiresome... PBX Functionality How-to
Hello, I had a partner of mine present a Centrex 21 brochure and ask how many of those features can I fulfill. There is nothing out of the ordinary, it's stuff like call hold, call forward, 3-way calling, etc. Has anyone assembled a how-to that shows how to configure PBX or Centrex type functionality? I found one in the voip-info wiki but only a couple of topics were filled out. Regards,

Re: Some simple voicemail questions...
Hello all, I am working on setting up a basic Asterisk system (using Digium FXS and FXO cards, Polycom IP phones). I've got a few questions in regards to voicemail and was hoping that someone could give me some ideas... Right now we have three incoming POTS lines. There are times when all three lines are used. When the lines busy out, the incoming call is sent to a voicemail

How big is *your* dialplan??
Hello! In my relentless quest for knowledge, I pose this question: who's got the biggest dialplans, and how big are these monsters? What's the biggest dialplan in use right now? If you feel you are a competitor, let me know how many contexts/extensions/priorities you are dealing with. Maybe the context with the most extensions, the extension with the most priorities would be

Marketing Digium/Asterisk
The benefits of * are obvious so that part of the marketing an * solution is easy. Anybody care to share ideas on how to target companies who would benefit most from */Digium? It seems to me that it would be an easy sell to small/medium companies who need advanced features such as ip trunking, IVR, Conference bridging, etc., etc. I would like to find a way to identify multi-location companies

Outbound dialing
Hello all. I am just getting back into Asterisk and I am setting up my Linksys SPA3102. I have incoming calls working fine, as is the phone plugged into the unit. My problem is I cannot get the SPA3102 to dial a phone number automatically. I can call the extention of the PSTN and I get a second dialtone, and I can then manually dial. I'd like to be able to have Asterisk pass the

Help please
Hi, My PBX/key system failed when building power was switched off and then back on. The service rep says the PBX unit is so old that it is not repairable. The unit has 8 incoming POTS lines and 12 multiline sets. There are voice mailboxes on each line. Switching to Qwest's Centrex system would cost about $3800/yr. My 8 business lines now cost $3320/yr, so the Centrex increment would
