Trials with 1.4
I decided to try 1.4 today. Zaptel builds, installs and seems to load
correctly and Asterisk builds, installs and works but no Zap lines.
When I typed "make menuselect" for Asterisk and went poking around I
discovered that chan_zap is marked XXX and I can't figure out why
that might be. Any suggestions?

Zaptel 1.2.26 problems
Yesterday I upgraded my Zaptel to 1.2.26 or I think that was it, the
latest 1.2 version at downloads.digium.com. I have a Digium 4 card
populated with 4 red FXO cards using channels 1,2 and 4. Channel 3 is
not used. It's been working fine for a few years. After upgrading to
1.2.26 calls stopped coming in on channel 1, Channel 2 still worked
fine and I could get dialtone and make calls

Centos 7 | Rebind ctrl + alt + f# keystroke to application
Hello,
I am new to Centos and this mailing list.
I have an application (IntelliJ IDEA) which uses the ctrl+alt+f# key
combinations to provide shortcuts. The keystrokes are bind to the ttys
virtual consoles. Is there anyway to rebind the keystrokes to the
application?
I tried the following solution (xorg.conf edit) but my PC freezes during
boot process. I had to rollback the xorg.conf changes

openssh and keystroke timing attacks (again)
Hi all,
Over the past 10 years, there has been some discussion and several
patches concerning keystroke timing being revealed by the timing of
openssh packet network transmission. The issue is that keystroke
timing is correlated with the plaintext, and openssh users expect
their communications to be kept entirely secret.
Despite some excellent ideas and patches, such as Jason Coit's

SellVOIP
I was quite surprised to find a message in my in box from SellVOIP a
day or two ago. It indicated I was running out of credit which was a
surprise as I thought they'd gone under a large number of months
back. So I ran upstairs, added their entry back to sip.conf,
uncommented a couple of lines in extensions.conf and I'm again using
sellvoip to make outgoing calls.
The reason I was

Linksys SPA962 with SPA932 unexpected reboots
We are having an issue with the SPA962/932 combo where the phone and the sidecar will reboot unexpectedly ? could be onhook, could be on a call, doesn?t seem to matter. I read that certain early firmware revisions could cause this so I?m running what was a week ago the newest available (5.1.18). A call to Linksys support suggested that I ensure that the phones are using a recent firmware version

grp_lock error when compiling against pjproject
Hello Asterisk,
Would someone be kind enough as to add the issue:
grp_lock error when compiling against pjproject
and solution:
delete the rogue install in /usr/local/include
To the WIKI page about installing pjsip.
I tried to update the WIKI but don't seem to have a way to do it.
I know it's not supposed to happen and I know what I did wrong, but it's hard to imagine

One way audio on new build
Hello Asterisk,
I've been running a CENTOS 5 box with Asterisk 14 and am trying to
move to Asterisk 17.2 on a new Fedora Server 31 box. I built Asterisk
from Source as I've always done and copied all the configuration files
and other stuff from the old box. Everything comes up as expected and
it all seems to work except I have one way audio. I'm still using SIP,
not pjsip. As soon as

Another thing I've noticed is that twice today while sitting at the
CLI prompt I was throw to the command line because Asterisk had
exited. Typing asterisk started it right up again and then I could
get back to the CLI. I think both

identifying what a user pressed to reach my phone
I am a new trixbox user. One of the things I'd like to get working is
being able to tell if a user is calling me by directly dialing my
extension, or if they pressed 1 for sales. When they press 1, it rings
a group of phones, and the call is almost always for someone else. So
I'm always looking at my phone when it rings, trying to recognize the
incoming number and decide if I

Key mapping problem (Endnote)
Dear fellow Wine users,
It was to my recent delight that I found that EndNote 3 will
work usably under Wine. However, it does seem to display
a slightly odd problem when certain keys are pressed.
In essence, the problem seems to be that certain keys,
when pressed, generate two keystrokes. So for example,
pressing RETURN moves down two lines, pressing BACKSPACE
deletes two characters, pressing
