Optus Australia Multiline SHDSL service
Hi, I am currently trying to find a replacement for a dinosaur PBX and want to replace it with a VoIP solution. We have just moved our lines over to an Optus Multiline from a Telstra ISDN Onramp 30 service with 100 lines. My question for you good people is what sort of hardware do I need to interface Asterix into the Optus Multiline? The Optus service is terminated in my office to a SHDSL

redirecting traffic using iptables
Hi. I have two internet connections, the ADSL2+ is very very cheap (but fast 10mb) and I want to use the SHDSL (2mb) only for mail, ssh, http OUT and the ADSL2+ only for surfing. I all works fine if people specify the proxy in the browser, but in case like flash it of no use. Further if I can make the 80/443 traffic go through the proxy only, its an added bonus. If this can be done, fine. Bue I

RE: Question regarding Split Access description (Adam Neat)
IMHO, i believe that it would be more realistic to have one router providing load balancing/dead gateway to one/several subnet(s). otherwise, each server/user would have to do their own load balancing for each subnet! that, or you would need 3 routers, one for each subnet and a linux router doing the load balancing in the middle. with 3 routers, the load balancing configurations

Question regarding Split Access description
Hi All, I''m a big user of the LARTC document but am currently stuck with a question around section 4.2 (http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html) in relation to "Routing for multiple uplinks/providers". I''m wanting to do a similar setup to the diagram where I have - lets just say for the moment - two uplink providers where I want to route over two

(UN)structured E1
Hi all. We are getting our first PRI line to use with Asterisk and one of the technical specifications is about framing, structured or unstructured. The main difference about them is almost clear for me: http://ckp.made-it.com/g704.html says: "G.704 is the framing specification for G.703. A carrier can 'steal' a 64kbps time slot (TS0) from a 2.048 Mbps line and use this to

Connecting Siemens HiCom PBX with Asterisk through E1
Hi I've bought the Wildcard TE110 some days ago but I'm unable to get it to work with Siemens HiCom 300. I've tried this so far: 1. I've used standard cat5 cable cut off on one edge and twisted wires 1 to 4 and 2 to 3 which is according to cisco a short circuit for E1 lines. Wildcard takes a few seconds and sets the link to green (OK). 2. I've tried to connect our running

outcall notification
Has anyone implemented an outcall notification when there is a voice message waiting? I would like to have the system notify me of awaiting voice messages by a telephone call rather than an email notification. I would imagine that a call could be dumped into the asterisk spool directory, but I'm not sure how I would monitor for messages waiting. Has anyone implemented such a feature for

Newbie: ISDN E1 the same in all countries?
Hi. I'm looking at ordering a 30-channel ISDN connection from telia (a swedish operator) and then using a Wildcard TE110P card with that and asterisk to do IVR. Can I be certain that the TE110P card will work with that ISDN connection? A 30 channel ISDN certainly sounds like an E1 connection, but I couldn't get any clear answers from the operator if it is. Has anyone used the TE110P

Asterisk as office PBX
Hello, I would like to make sure I am not going to shoot myself in the head, so I would appreciate if you could tell me if what I am willing to do is realistic (and will work) or not. I am willing to replace our office "London" phone system when a new E1 (G703) is installed later this month and I have the choice between using asterisk or a more classical hardware PBX. The planned

sfq as solution to "Small ISP problems" and "How could I do this?"
> Subject: [LARTC] Small ISP problems (CBQ) > First of all, this is what we want (in network priority order): > 1: SSH - to be realtime always. I don''t think you want this to always be high prio - that includes scp. > 2: HTTP to be fast, always. Cannot dial on E1 cards
Hello, I have a Digium TE110P connected to a GSM Gateway via E1 (Euro-IDSN). It works fine, but after an hour or so, it cannot setup a call anymore. The error it sends is: app_dial.c:1215 dial_exec_full: Unable to create channel of type 'Zap' (cause 0 - Unknown) When that happens, the only way to have it working again, is doing a "restart row". Incoming calls (from the

TE110P on E1
Hi, I wonder if anyone is using Digium's TE110P card on an E1 connection. I have been try to, but so far it wasn't much of a success. It only works more or less in EuroISDN as PRI CPE. And even that config gives me some trouble with channel negotiation. My current config: *zaptel.conf:* span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3 bchan=1-15,17-31 dchan=16 loadzone=be defaultzone=be *zapata.conf:* [trunkgroups]

TE110P as E1
Hello, I'm having problem with a wildcard TE110P. As soon as I load the module (wcte11xp for kernel 2.6.10), it spawns a yellow error with or without an E1 plugged-in. Any one managed to set it up in France? Here are my files: zaptel.conf: span=1,0,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4 bchan=1-15 dchan=16 bchan=17-31 zapata.conf: [channels] language=fr context=default switchtype=euroisdn pridialplan=unknown

In this case no problem. But if it's an another call i want to return call to my

E1 Channel Numbering - Your Comments.
All This is a small issue that I stumbled onto that has to do with the channel numbering on an E1 connection into an Asterisk Zaptel/DAHDI system. As most of us already know an E1 has 32 channels of which 30(1-15 17-31) are B-channels and 1 (16) is a D-Channel. The 32nd channel is not presented in Asterisk Zaptel/DAHDI. There are other configurations but this is the most common. ***
