Windows 10 & Samba
Are there any special quirks with Windows 10 and Samba... Using Visual Foxpro 9 on Windows 7 with the data and program files on a Samba file server. Will need to move to Windows 10 in a year so doing some testing. Everything works on one machine with 10 while on another it will not call the main.prg file on the Samba server. Trying to figure out if it is VFP9 issue or a quirk with Samba.

TMG -- MS Visual Foxpro errors
Hi Donald; Saw your post on the Wine message-board on installing TMG under Wine. I'm trying it under Darwine on an iMAC. Could you tell me how you got it to run? The message-board goes back-and-forth so many times that I seem to be getting lost. I can get to the point at which I get the following message: Welcome to Darwin! gary-gauthiers-computer:~ garygauthier$

Wine 0.9.11 and Visual Foxpro 9
G'day I am trying to install Visual FoxPro 9 with wine. I have been following the instructions from "http://www.paulmcnett.com/vfp/wine/". I have had to slightly modify the paths used for the symlinks because the format of version 9 appears to differ from that of version 8. Or it's because they didn't lend me the original disks. Basically an extra directory level called

Foxpro with MYSQL
G'day If I have VFP9 working, a Mysql DSN which I can contact via isql and using unixODBC for this. Do I need to do anything else to wine ie; install MySQL drivers (Windows version) to get connectivity? I just finished checking out Paul McNett's pages, however the MYSQL drivers he used for VFP8 are "no longer supported" when I do "wine setup.exe". I have a saved

Visual Fox Pro 6 application
Hi: I'm trying to run an application that was made with Visual Fox Pro 6. I tried some different previous versions of Wine like 0.9.3 and 0.9.7. Sometimes I got error messages like "There's no enough memory to complete this operation" and "Incompatible integer type..." or something like that. Finally I upgraded to 0.9.9 version and I had no previously mentioned

ODBC and Mysql
G'day Just for the record, I have wine and foxpro working fine with one small exception. I have followed the instructions from "3.3.6.1 Configuring ODBC on unix" and understand from the docs that this is all wine needs. I have a DSN called "tuna" to a MySql database called "dolphin" which I can use isql to connect to no problem. However, when I use the ODBC

Wine / Visual Foxpro 7 Problems (mouse click freezes the program)
Hi, First of all, apologies if I'm not posting this in the correct place. I'm successfully running Microsoft Visual Foxpro 7 under Wine, however I needed to use the native versions of shlwapi and oleaut32. There is a major problem still, however, and that is that foxpro will freeze as soon as I use the mouse to click in certain controls (the command window, a textbox, an edit box,

Upgrade path questions
Hi, We are currently running Dovecot v1.1.6 on our servers, and are contemplating an upgrade to 1.2, or 2.0 soon. We are wondering how many organizations are still running a 1.1 version of Dovecot, and if anyone has any thoughts on this transition. Have you upgraded from 1.1 to 1.2? What are your experiences with this? Have you upgraded from 1.1 to 2.0 directly? What are your experiences this

Changing level an error logs at
Hi, I'd like to change the log levels of a few of the errors that Dovecot throws. Our servers throw errors at the console above the 'Error' level, and there are a few that I'd like to change to 'Warn' so that they don't do so. Has anyone out there attempted this and can give me a few pointers? Or is there a doc somewhere about how to do this? Thanks,

Anyone successfully using expire plugin?
Anyone out there using expire? At this point, I'm not sure that it's even running. It was touching the plugin libraries yesterday, but doesn't appear to be doing so today. The plugin directory wasn't explictly set, so I've done so now, but it's still not touching these. Anyone have a cf file I could take a look at, or any ideas as to what might be happening? Thanks!

Making changes to dovecot log levels
Hi Timo, Awhile back I'd written about making changes to some of the log levels that dovecot writes to to stop the process from writing these to monitor. I wanted to run a few changes by you for this, just to make sure these won't cause problems somewhere else. And to send this to the list, in case anyone else wants to make similar changes in the future. In the file

Problem with dovecot config
Hi, Doing a first install of dovecot, trying to copy over some of the config settings from 1.1.6. I'm getting an error, I think from the ACL plugin module. This is the error I'm getting on the console: Error: imap dump-capability process returned 89 Fatal: Invalid configuration in /etc/opt/dovecot1.8/dovecot.conf And this is what is appearing in syslog: Jan 23 12:46:57

Errors
I'm a brand new wine user, trying to install a genealogy program that the database says works without problems. I get a load of error messages when I run the install, and the install never completely runs. I want help, but I don't know where to start. What information should I be providing to the good folks of this list in hopes of getting a solution? Thanks Rick Seiden

File lock
I am failing to lock a database file on a unix server (Solaris486) when the file lock request is sent from Visual Foxpro on Windows 95. Any suggestions on testing procedures, or even a solution?? Please feel free to assume that I don't know anything about file locks! I don't even know how Visual Foxpro attempts to lock a file. Would the Foxpro lock be recognised by any application?

Samba and Foxpro for Unix
Hi ! I have an unique situation. An SCO Unixware 7.1.3 with Samba 2.2.7a (yes, i know; it sucks !) On the machine, is running MS Foxpro 2.6 for UNIX (it's running pretty well for several years) but due to new demands (like Crystal Reports, Visual view; etc) the directories with DBF files were shared using Samba. At the beginning, when everything was only about reading, there were no
