Hardware browser just shows them as unknown device. driver: hisax So, of course, my zaptel drivers do not work and therefore my asterisk does not work. any help would be greatly

Possibly bad FXS module in TDM400P?
I've got the latest zaptel and cvs asterisk software loaded on my phone server running FC3. And yes, It's fully updated and udev is setup correctly. I've got a TDM400P with one FXS and one FXO module installed. When I load zaptel and wctdm and run ztcfg -vvv, I get this: [root@asterisk ~]# ztcfg -vvv ZT_CHANCONFIG failed on channel 1: No such device or address (6) Zaptel

Strange Zaptel issue
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greets all sorry for the posting but this one has me confused. I compiled Zaptel and am experiencing something strange. I followed the instructions on README.udevs to the tee, set permissions, etc. and I'm confused as to what gives. Zaptel compiled without a problem but no device was made.... Problems with Digium TDM400 card
I had a working Asterisk 1.4.24.1 installation on SUSE 9 Linux but SIP only. I then downloaded and installed latest Zaptel and could not get Zaptel working. So I downloaded Asterisk again and re-installed. But still problems: Here is my ztcfg output: asterisk:/etc/asterisk # ztcfg -vvvvv Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf line 4: Unable to read Zaptel version information. Zaptel

Need help getting started with asterisk
I am new to asterisk. I need help getting started, if it's even worth getting started. I say if it's worth getting started because I'm not sure if my hardware will even work with asterisk. I have a US ROBOTICS 56K V.90 PCI SOFT MODEM. I have standard twisted pair telephone wire. I can't afford to alter my hardware. I know I won't be able to do any sophistocated VoIP stuff.

Zaptel problem after upgrading to 1.2.16
Hi guys, I'm hoping I've made a silly mistake here, but I've been staring at the screen for the past few hours and I can't work it out. I upgraded to 1.2.16 recently, and am having problems with zaptel. The card is detected, I get a reasonable output from ztcfg -vv, and zttool shows the installed module (TDM400) with one FXS module. But when I start asterisk, I get

SUSE 9.2 and Zaptel channels
Of course I am not a kernel expert, so .. please be patient. I am investigating on my zaptel/zapata problem. My first Asterisk - Not recognizing X100P clone
Hi, I'm cutting my teeth setting up a home asterisk server, but having some trouble getting Zaptel to recognize a X100P clone PCI (Motorola SM56 which should work according to various wiki's). What struck me was that the "/proc/interrupts" do not include IRQ 11 as the "lpcpi -v" is reporting. Am I missing something fundamental here? Any hint is greatly
