Dear HO SIN,
many thanks for "L" solution you give me...
I have also libtiff troubles with RH9, how did you resolve them ?
R2 protocol I use work only with AB bits(CDbits ares fixed) and it run
perfectely with the testcall.c, i'll try with chan_unicall and i'll give you
the result...
*** GOOD luck Steve for updating the patch of last asterisk ***

[OT] spandsp hylafax asterisk and confusion
This really only seems practical in a corporate environment however, I would
suggest decoupling the creation of faxable material from the act of
transmitting it.
First use CUPS/Samba to create a 'print to PDF' printer
(http://www.google.ca/search?q=samba+pdf+printer)
Second use an LDAP to look up to return the email address of the submitter
of the job and send them the resulting PDF

Steve,
Do you know if there are many differences between the Mexican and Brazilian
variant ?
Kind regards,

Is there any MFC-R2 implementation for asterisk?
The last thing that I read about it was:
Steve Underwood [steveu@coppice.org] wrote on Sep 3:

So, apparently he implemented it.
I was trying to contact Steve, but he isn't answering me.

Sound card problem in acoustic echo
Hi all,
The conclusion of the discussion is that most sound cards indeed have
different capture and playing frequencies for the unknown reasons.
But we all know the adaptive filter of the AEC relies on the synchronization
of the far-end and near-end sampling rates.
Then Has anybody tried to use speex AEC in Windows system? How do you
solve this problem?
(I have tested speex AEC. In most

Do common on-board or PCI sound card lock to some incoming signal?
Yes, there is a crystal oscillator and a PLL or divider to

Speex or iLBC?

It costs them nothing as long as they can afford to run real time floating point code,
which is the only one released as open source and

Acoustic echo cancellation
Speaking of AEC (thought not quite on topic for this thread),
Has anyone on this list played with the GIPS code that google just
open-sourced? It looks like their AEC also has code to handle differential
sample rates, though I haven't really evaluated it thoroughly.
There is really a lot of code in the drop ? basically all of the GIPS DSP
stuff (AGC, VAD, Denoise, echo canceller, etc),

Sound card problem in acoustic echo
Hi Underwood,
Thank you for your help. I agree with your opinion. But it is almost impossible
to further reduce the frequent difference between play and capture.
1. I used a 2^18 step FFT to analyse the echo frequency. So the freq resolution
is 8000HZ/(2^17)=0.0625Hz. The analyser need at least 2^18/8000=32 seconds
acoustic echo record signal from the microphone.
Better freq resolution relies

Increasing the speed of speex playback
Hi, Steve. I tried your the time_scale_tests program, and it works
well! Especially for low speed changes, it's the best I've heard so
far.
For high speed increases, there is what sounds like static added to
the sound output. I've attached two sound samples of high speed
speech, which is a 4X speed up of a popular TTS voice in the blind
community (voxin/Eloquence). I've sped

RE:mandrake linux install of zaptel
Extreme N00b, I am getting the error message "a target does not exist" when
running the make install inside the zap directory, probably pretty common,
possibly a package I didn't install, just need some insight on it. The same
occurs with the libpri and asterisk.

^5 problem with chan_unicall.c for Asterisk
Hi Kaws,
I may need to add some notes;
1. The default .rpm version of libtiff in RH9 does not seem to contain some functional entries required for libunicall / libmfcr2. Therefore when compiling libunicall "unresolved references....." will happen. To solve this, I needed to recompile libtiff from the tarball. When installing libtiff, the default directories will be under

Which spandsp & unicall version to use with 1.2?
Hi all,
Anyone have an idea which version of spandsp, libunicall, libmfcr2,
libsupertone, app_rxfax/app_txfax and chan_unicall I should use for the
latest asterisk 1.2?
Would that be the ones listed below?

Fax Problems with SpanDSP

I'm running current SpanDSP

with Asterisk 1.2.22 somewhat successfully.
Most Fax machines do work but I have problems with people having
Tobit FaxWare and Shamrock CapiFax.

Still on spandsp/app_fax and T.38
This message is pointed directly to Steve Underwood. I tought it would not be nice to directly email him with a question that interests a good part of the Asterisk community, so here it is. :)
Steve, remember a few days ago when we discussed about issues on Asterisk 1.6.1.13 and T.38 fax reception? Well I opened an issue on Mantis (https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16756) and turns out it

quadbri and spandsp
Hello, I have bought a targeta quadbri.
I want to realize a PBX server to send and to receive fax on lines BRI.
I have installed asterisk and the drivers of quadbri (bristuff_0.2.0-RC7b).
I downloaded and installed the module spandsp-0.0.2pre10
When i send a fax from the fax machine to asterisk, the application
rx_fax saves the fax in a file on the hard disk.
The problem comes when I try to send a
