Full screen question regarding World of Warcraft
Hi, I currently switch between Cedega and Wine to play World of Warcraft. Overall Wine works fine except for 1 issue I have that I want to try and get fixed. When I play WoW full screened in Cedega, pressing keys such as Alt and an ability let me cast it upon myself without changing targets. If Cedega isn't in a full screen mode, this doesn't work. For Wine though regardless of whether it

World of Warcraft on Intel GM96x
Hi, like many others I am trying to run wow with wine, but unlike many others, it doesn't really work ;) Already tried to fix with this Howto: http://www.wowwiki.com/Linux/Wine Nevertheless, I get to the login (all behind is red, no image like it should be) and to the character selection (only buttons visible, but no labels on them). I even get into the game, seeing the panels, but the

World of Warcraft 1.5.1
Yesterday's WoW patch[1] introduced a rather annoying bug making it impossible to select things like NPCs. The problem can be fixed (well, worked around) in Cedega using the config option "MemoryLayoutOverride" = "0x10000000". I seem to recall this is an area in which Wine and Cedega differ quite substantially, unless there's been some more convergence recently,

World of Warcraft error. "Disconnected from server."
Hey all! I'm running Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04, the 32-bit version on a 64-bit computer. I installed the latest wine (1.0) from the terminal just by going: Code: sudo apt-get install wine It installed perfectly and seems to work as it should. I then downloaded the World of Warcraft trial from wow-europe, and installed it with wine by right clicking on it and selecting wine. I am able to

Problems with World of Warcraft since 0.9.48 update
Hi all, I have installed WoW with 0.9.47 (actually also 0.9.45 and 0.9.46 on previous Linux installs) and it was working fairly well (with the due modification to the registry, WoW config file, and nice -15), but I started to have few problems since I have updated wine to 0.9.48. The first and most annoying problem is that every 15-25 minutes WoW freeze; I have to kill it and reopen it. That is

World of Warcraft - ATi 8.471
I just revived my LG laptop's Ubuntu install and have put the latest ATi driver on it. 3D acceleration works fine as does compiz. I copied over WoW to test and right now, I have to have ffxGlow "0" in the config.wtf file to get the game to start (otherwise it throws up the blizz error report and terminates). ffxGlow "0" causes rendering problems at the login screen, I

[ World of Warcraft ] The 1.8 Patch brings the target ( or targeting ) problem back
Hi, It seems that the new 1.8 patch brings and old problem back. The problem is : It's impossible to target any world object without some "tricks" [1] not always usable. This problem occured the first time with the 1.5 patch. A lot of workarounds were given on the forum and, finally, the 2.6.12 kernel fixed the problem for a lot of people (like me). Now the problem comes back but

[1.3.20] Mouse stuttering issue in World of Warcraft
I just installed 1.3.20 from the PPA on my Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit installation. One of the new features is the "Option to clip the mouse inside fullscreen windows". I wonder if this is related to the problem that has now cropped up since 1.3.19. In World of Warcraft when I move my mouse the position resets at constant intervals (~ 2 seconds). (When moving the mouse ever two seconds the

World of Warcraft segmentation fault
I recently upgraded to a new hard disk and installed Kubuntu Hardy from scratch, I installed the latest version of wine 1.1.2 and tried to run World of Warcraft. I immediately get a segmentation fault with no other messages. I have tried installing a fresh copy of Warcraft from the install media with the same result. I also tried backing up to 1.1.1 with the same results and a fresh copy of .wine,

Ubuntu: World of Warcraft 3.3.5a OpenGL and Intel GMA issue
ok, I'll get straight to the point: I'm trying to run World of Warcraft (Version 3.3.5 Build 12340) and I have an Intel GMA 4500MHD Integrated chipset, and I can login just fine, but when it tries to render a character, it crashes and spits out an error via the WowError.exe, and if I don't use OpenGL, it can play, but the FPS will spike horribly at random times, and all player
