Warcraft and Wine help [graphics]
Ok.. so i heard playing WoW on linux often runs better than in windows but im having some trouble with bugs and glitches..
i tried setting graphics to openGL and turning the settings to minimum but to no avail. :/
I've also done the regedit and added the registry value but that just makes it crash or lagg to the point where it's unplayable.

Wine & Wow
I'm experiencing problems with World of Warcraft.
There two issues;
First one is mouse lag on game. I found that "hardware cursor" can solve this problem. This is not so important.
Second problem is the important one. When i start game, after playing like 2 minutes the frame rate decreases to ~0.1 frame per second. This means a huge lag is happening. This continues for at least 15

Ubuntu Hardy + Wine + WoW = corrupted graphics
Hello all,
I've got a laptop w/ an "Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML"
graphics card (I know, Intel sucks) running Ubuntu Hardy and Wine
0.9.61~winehq0~ubuntu~8.04-1.
I've had problems getting World of Warcraft to run under wine before, so
when I upgraded to Hardy I thought I would try it again. At least in
the past I could run WoW using the built-in d3d

Unusual hard problem, WoW won't start!
Hi,
I have a kind of annoying and what it seems like unusual problem while trying to play the game World of Warcraft. I think I have done everything that people have recommended others to try out, have been googling around for some hours now.
My graphic card is: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon HD 4770 [RV740] and I have installed the drivers for it. The funny thing is that my brother uses the exact

Crazy screen on WoW...
I've been playing WoW with zero problems for the past year or so on Ubuntu.. (running Maverick now)... I'm using the latest build of Wine... all updates applied in Maverick... latest version of WoW...
Today, for some reason, the screen freaks out and I have to hard-boot the machine (see screen shot below)... I've tried just about everything and I'm clueless... I even renamed my

WoW using d3d
Sharing this in case it is helpful to any other WoW players with the opengl
issues or to anyone working on d3d in Wine.
I've been trying World of Warcraft without the -opengl tag since Blizzard
introduced their latest round of opengl breaking updates. I was very
pleasantly surprised to find the game both playable and stable in d3d. I still
have a couple graphical issues but they are not

Workaround: stuttering legs in WoW 3.1.x
Hi there,
I recently found a workaround for the "stuttering legs" bug in WoW, which is currently described in AppDB. It should work for everyone using gnome - so, since this is widespread, I thought it would be a good idea to share the workaround with you.
I noticed that the running animation is all okay when activating auto-run - and that holding down the "run forward" key

WoW crashes Wine
So I managed to install and get WoW running on my Eee PC 1000HD. However, the program will crash unexpectedly after 5-20 minutes. There doesn't seem to be a predictable occurrence that causes it to crash tho. I have been looking for answers but have found nothing so far.
I should clarify that it isnt a complete crash. Wine pops up an error about how it needs to close but I can still hear

WoW + Wine Git
Howdy,
Recently, I fetched a post-1.1.5 version of Wine off of Git. I run WoW fullscreen in OpenGL. I've made no changes to my WoW configuration.
However, it appears this version of Wine now takes Gnome Panel into consideration when determining the OpenGL viewport size. It places the OpenGL viewport between my top and bottom Gnome Panel. It was neat to begin with, but now I'm coming

Starcraft 2 Issues =(
Hey dear Wine community,
I want to play Starcraft 2 (Retail) on my Ubuntu distro, so I downloaded wine 1.3 and followed a How To to install wine tricks.
After I downloaded this stuff, I had to disable mmdevapi and Enable Elsa under the Audio tab.
Then I installed Starcraft 2, it was very fast installed and I began to update.
Update done, so I started the game.
But there was an graphical error,

Re: Wine and WoW Cataclysm Patch 4.0 troubleshooting thread
That's what I'm going to do, after purging all the current nvidia stuff frommy system.
The second thing I'm going to do is download, build and install the latest decent version of Wine.
Thanks for all your advice. It's been really helpful.
