Polycom SIP 1.3.1 & Reject Button
Hello, I recently upgraded to Sip 1.3.1 and noticed that the Reject Button is no longer appearent on the screen when a second incoming call comes in unless I press the hold button on the first call. Does anyone have a work around for this to reject a call while continuing to talk to the first party? I should also point out that I don't want it to be on *, as the situation varies from call

Hi everyone, I have been dealing with a certain issue with a particular customer site for months now. The problem occurs when there is an error with caller id as shown in the following: WARNING[16036]: chan_zap.c:6309 ss_thread: CallerID returned with error on channel 'Zap/3-1' When this happens, it appears that the call still goes through as I can see the caller still navigating

Cisco 7940 log on/off
Hi All, Anyone know if theres a way to share a Cisco 7940 between hot-desk users? My phones get their setup via SIP .cnf files, that load at boot via tftp, so I'm assuming the configs a failry static. However if I want a phone to be hot-desked, I could have different users sitting there. Is there any concept of "logging on" in these environments? Cheers, Adrian

Dialing off-hook with Polycom SoundPoint IP 430
Hi... I've been fighting this for a while now, trying clean builds of Asterisk 1.14.18, 1.14.19rc3, and then 1.6 Beta 6 today. No workee. :-( Here's the results for various calls made off-hook (push the blue Speakerphone button on the Polycom 430): 988852700 - Phone waits for me to either hit the soft-key "Send" or "EndCall". If I hit "Send",

Setting up Polycom IP 500 with *
I am in the process of setting up an * system using Polycom IP 500's. I don't want to spend time setting a ftp server for application and configuration files at the moment, just want to use the web interface to the Polycoms. DCHP works OK and IP is obtained correctly. Polycom fails to load .cfg file and holts. I have read the 143 page admin user guide a couple of times...and I missing

Polycom Echo
Lately I have been experiencing a lot of echo from my Polycom phones. Only I hear the echo and it's not on every call. I've researched it via google and the forums and every echo problem usually relates when it's using a Zap card and not an IAX provider. Can anyone give me some advice or where to look to help solve this echo problem? This never occurs on any of our other phones,

Reject call from Asterisk dialplan
Hi, I'm looking for a way to reject a call remotely using the Asterisk dialplan. For example, phone A is ringing - I'm at the other end of the room next to phone B, and I want to reject the call to Phone A by dialing an extension. I'm basically trying to reproduce the Polycom "reject" action but through the Asterisk dialplan. Reasons: 1. It would allow me to

Interrupt VM and Steal a call.
Two questions: 1. Does anyone have a good way to transfer a call from inside comedian mail to the current extension? The problem is: let's say the phone goes to voicemail after 4 rings, yet I don't hear it until the 3rd ring. I come running into my office but miss it by a split second. Is there a way I can barge in on the person leaving a message for my mailbox while they're

Changing contexts "on the fly"
Hi folks, I've been playing around with an Asterisk server in my office for a few weeks now, and I've got it pretty much nailed down the way I want it, which is nice. One of the features I'm using is the ability to switch different contexts in & out of the dialplan on a schedule. So, for example, I've got the "official" tel number ringing my desk phone between

Polycom vs. Cisco IP Phones
Hi all, I am working on building a new VoIP PBX. Looking at the current market for phones it seems my best "enterprise" options are the Cisco and Polycom phones. I have some experiance with the Cisco 7940G, but the process of flashing the phone with the SIP firmware left a bad taste in my mouth (not to mention the added expense for the phone). What is the general consensis about

Polycom 301's drop last two digits of dialed number
Hi All, Having a rather annoying problem with the Polycom 301 phones, suspect it to be my dialplan. Basically if you lift the receiver off the handset and dial a number, it will not let you dial a number longer than 10 digits (Can see this being acceptable in US, but in UK its a right pain). As soon as the 10th digit is entered, it starts to dial and the number is invalid. If the phone is left
