Someone needs to send network traces and debug level 10 logs
for this. And try to reproduce the same against a Windows
server.

FCR1: Syslinux boot disk after Kernel Update
Hi,
I'm running fedora core rel. 1 on a dual system, using syslinux on a
floppy disk as boot manager to start fedora. However, after up2date, I
can't start fedora with the new kernel, as syslinux probably points to
the old one. Kernel installation was done automatically via rpm (up2date
online), but it didn't change syslinux parameters.
What do I need to change in syslinux config

VT built in?
Hi Xen team,
one short question before I grab the new machine of a colleague: did you
build Xen3 for Sid with VMX (virtualization with the newer
Vander...Pacifica)? Or will I have to build it myself?
Sorry for the direct mail to this list, but I'm not subscribed to
Debian-Users. Please CC me, as I'm also not subsribed here. Thx.
kind regards,
Wolfgang

Hi,
I have a problem and I don't get to the point. I have a Samba3.0.0 RC1
Server running, my problem is I include different %g_smb.confs for each
group loging in to the server. The first problem is it takes up to 30
secs in my testing environment until the shares are shown (All Clients

Samba Bug?
Hi,
I've been trying to get in touch with someone to discuss a problem
with Samba that I've been experiencing. I can reproduce the bug
on the systems for which I am responsible, and am interested to
know whether it is a local problem or a genuine bug. (I have searched
the archives, updated to the latest Samba release and read the docs :)
I posted to this list and have had no replies -

Notification of file modification in subdirectories not working
Hi Volker
Thanks for reply.
managed to capture Samba logs 4.2.7 in debug 10
Subsribed to events on path /watchfolder recursively.
First notification is renaming a folder in a subfolder, path
/watchfolder/test/renamed - that works OK.
Second notification is on path /watchfolder/test/subfile.txt and editing
that in Notepad on another Windows 7 machine via UNC path
That does not show

Replacement for Pdftk under CentOS 7 ?
Hi,
Two weeks ago I migrated all our local school's servers and clients from
Slackware 14.1 to CentOS 7. Everything went perfectly, and now I'm busy
sanding down some edges.
The previous installation sported pdftk and a frontend (can't remember
the name) which allowed some basic operations on PDF files such as
splitting and concatenation. The school's staff used this application

Internet Streaming
As of now, I can broadcast my stream to my school's local netowrk, but how
can I extend it to the "real internet" so people outside of my school's
domain can hear it ?

CentOS 5.3 installation on HP DL380 R05 server
Hi All
I will need to install CentOS 5.3 on HP DL380 R05 server with RAID-1
required. I am a newbie to CentOS / HP servers, need your help:
- Does CentOS 5.3 work smoothly with HP DL380 server especially
recognizing SAS disks and hardware RAID-1 features? From you experience, do
you have to use HP Storage Drivers provided for RedHat Enterprise Linux 5?
- How is HP

Mail server troubles
Hi,
This is probably a bit OT, but here goes.
I've been running our local school's mail server since 2013, with mail
addresses for school staff and some teachers. The server is running CentOS 7
with Postfix and Dovecot, and it's a nice no-bullshit configuration with SPF,
DKIM and DMARC.
The school sends quite a lot of email out to parents, and sometimes, mail gets
rejected:

Encoding with Channel-Coupling
Hi,
I'm planning to re-encode all my MP3s with Ogg Vorbis but I wanted to wait
until 1.0 was released because of channel-coupling. I read that would increase
quality about 40% at the same bitrate and I didn't want to encode my files
wasting all that bitrate ...
Now, since 1.0rc1 is released I am wondering if I am actually able to use
channel-coupling right now. I installed all the newest

As someone with school age children, I've observed that schools seem to
have a vastly over-inflated view of the importance of their
communications. I've provided my email address to my children's schools
as an EMERGENCY contact

Labeling charts within a loop
Hi All:
This may turn out to be very simply, but I can't seem to add the name of
the school to a chart. The loop I created is below that subsets a
dataframe and creates a chart for each school based on certain
variables. As it stands now, they title includes the school's ID number.
Instead, I want to replace this with the school's actual name, which is
stored in a variable called

SIP Softphone on Thinclient?
Is anyone doing this or has anyone tried? The thin clients are running
WindowsCE, a browser, and 300mhz. They are Wyse units.
I wonder if anyone has any practical advise or can recommend the best
phone or method to load a stable softphone on one of these boxes?
Thanks,

Mirroring
I have been running Samba for several years, in some pretty crazy
configurations. By in large it has worked extremely well. My company has
adopted it as our primary server and we have delivered several systems that
Linux/Samba are at the core.
I'm trying to address a new opportunity. The user wants to keep an NT server
as the Golden Copy and have many mirrors that actually serve the files.
