TE410P card in an HP-Compaq DL380 G4 server
Hi, Has anyone had success using a TE410P card in an HP-Compaq DL380 G4 server? For me the card is detected fine, but the system just never sees an interrupt from the card. I've tried everything I can think of. The card definitely works. Its Fedora Core, but we also tried a stock 2.6.10 kernel. We tried with and without Hyperthreading, with "noapic", we disabled all the

Which g729 module for HP DL 360 G3 (Xeon CPU's)?
I am running a HP DL360 G3 ans want to know the optimal g729 module for it. There don't seem to be any optimised for Xeon's. I am currently using i686, but is there a better one to match my Xeon CPU's? P4 processor with Hyperthreading and Asterisk
Hello, I read an interesting article on 2cpu.com that talks about the performance differences between a P4 processor with Hyperthreading(HT) enabled and disabled. http://www.2cpu.com/articles/ht_explored/index.html The bottom line of the article is that processor intensive applications greatly benefit from HT being enabled, but memory intensive applications can actually see a slight decrease in

Information on the number of CPU's
Dear R Users, I am on Windows XP SP2 platform, using R version 2.7.2 . I was wondering if there is a way to find out, within R, the number of CPU's on my machine ? I would use this information to set the number of nodes in a cluster, depending on the machine. Sys.info() and .Platform do not carry this information. Thanks in advance, Tolga Uzuner Generally, this communication is for

Linux DomU vs Bare Metal performance issues
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I''m trying to diagnose a reasonably large performance drop between two ostensibly similar servers; one running CentOS 5.5 on bare metal, the other running Fedora 14 as a Xen DomU under CentOS 5.5 (Xen 3.1.2-194.26.1.el5) I have a pair of older Dell PowerEdge 1750 servers, each with 4GB ram and 2x 2.4GHz Xeon CPU''s with

Asking for phone number to dial
Does anyone know where to find an example or able to provide an example of how to do the following: When asterisk answers a call... Ask for number to dial...then dial that number? I am basically dialing into the asterisk box and then wanting it to take the digits I enter and dial them on an outbound zap trunk... I basically am just not sure how to have asterisk accept the digits and then use

extlinux issue
Trying again since the mailing list says I have a 'suspiscous header'. I have been told to get linux running on two HP DL360G4p machines (ancient rackmount xeon stuff). Unfortunately, while isolinux boots fine from CDROM, and extlinux can boot a USB stick, I cannot get extlinux to boot from the CCISS hard disks (two disks in hardware raid 1 configuration). I searched on google a lot,

rails hyperthreading on Quad core
Hi, my video sharing website (politube.org) that I developed with rails, runs on lighttpd/fcgi (I know it is obsolete by now) and is severely under load and regularly blocks because the lighttpd process chews up 50% of RAM (1GB). So now I want to move the system to a new server with 8GB, 64bit , Quad core processor (intel i7 920) but I am not sure if hyperthreading will really do anything better.

qlogic qle2462 hba and freebsd stable on a dl360 g5
Hi. I'm looking at a qlogic qle2462 hba for my dl360 g5. The thread http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg99497.html mentions a deadlock when system is loaded. Has this issue been resolved? Are there other PCI Express hba's which are known to work with freebsd stable and dl360 g5? -- regards Claus When lenity and cruelty play for a kingdom, the gentler gamester is

Problems Formatting /boot With CentOS 4.3 on a DL360 G3
I have been trying to install CentOS 4.3 on an HP DL360 G3 (with dual Xeon 3.2 GHz, a Smart Array 5i, and two 36 GB disks doing RAID 1 mirroring). I''m doing all defaults (including the disk and LVM setup) and using the "Minimal" checkbox at the bottom of the Custom machine type package selection screen, so it''s a very "vanilla" install. It zips through the

Hyperthreading ON causes OOPS on boot
I just tried to install CentOS (x86_64 4.4 and i386 4.3, not both at once, when I found the 64bit version didn't boot, I tried the 32bit version, same result) on a dual Naconda Xeon system. I get an OOPS just after the IDE info is printed on the screen during boot (this is booting off the CD during the install phase). After mucking about with the bios settings (and many reboots later), I
