I have seen conflicting references in regards to the Digium Wildcard TE411P echo settings in zapata.conf. Does anyone have the official word on this? Should echo cancel be enabled in zapata.conf if the card has built in EC? If so, should a particular EC method be compiled into the zaptel build? I just implemented a system using a TE411P hardware echo cancellation card. Per Digium, I setup zaptel.conf, and zapata.conf the same way as I always have. To my surprise calls out to the PSTN had a terrible echo. 1 - 2 second delay, and quite clear. The echo was so bad that I had to remove the hardware echo cancellation module from the card. Hello all, I am getting console debug messages about "tone detected on channel XX, disabling echo cancelation on channel XX" when using echocancel=yes with a Digium T1 card. does this mean that DTMF breaks the echo can? Does Asterisk permanently disable the echo can or is it for that channel instance only?
