Re: Newbie Questions - Grandstorm phones?
Thanks everyone for the input. After pricing everything we need out,
it's not worth trying to get our old system to work, so I've pitched
ditching everything and starting over. I'm very excited and hoping
they'll go for it.
Regardless, I'm going to throw a box together for my house, we have no
home phone (just cell phones) so this'll be a great way of testing.

SPA-841 vs Grandstream GXP-2000
I started out a few years ago with some SPA-841 sets, because the
Grandstream 2000 I thought I wanted was perpetually delayed. The GS had more
call appearances, and I didn't want just the 4 max that the SPA offered. As
it turns out, with the greater flexibility of VOIP, I don't need 'dedicated'
CAs the way I needed them on ISDN previously, so 4 is actually adequate.
Along the line,

Grandstream GXP-2000 call end
Hi
When I make a call with the Grandstream GXP-2000 through Asterisk (and SER) to
landline using VSP, after I hang up the call the other party are still
connected for another 30-40 seconds. I've notice that the SIP BYE is sent to
Asterisk, but Asterisk sends no SIP BYE on to VSP. When I use the SPA-941 the
call terminates on the other right away soon as I hang up.
I have updated the

Park & No Announce?
We're using Grandstream GXP-2000 with programmed buttons to the first 5
parking lot extensions. When a call is parked, whichever parking lot
extension it's parked on lights up red. We've never used the "announce"
part and I'm wondering if there's an option I can't seem to find to
disable the announce so the transfer happens faster.
Thanks for any help,
Ken

Grandstream GXP 2010 : multiple accounts not working
On my Grandstream GXP 2010 I have the possibility for 6 channels and
thus 6 different accounts...
Line 1 I define an account that registers directly to an online
Asterisk-server, somewhere in a datacentre.
Line 2 I define an account that registers to the local Asterisk-server
(NSLU2 unslung)
When I activate both accounts, only the first account (to the
Asterisk-server on the internet) registers.

Feedback on Linksys SPA-921 and GrandStream GXP-2000
Hello
I'm about to order a GrandStream GXP-2000 and a Linksys SPA-921
I'd like to have some user feedback about how those phones perform, and
whether their LCD screen displays both the caller ID name and number (The
GrandStream BT-100 only displays numbers, which isn't very helpful).
Thank you.

Grandstream and pickup
Man, I really feel stupid, but after banging my head on a brick wall for
several hours ... I need help!
I've gotten the BLF to work on my shiny new GXP2010. The GXP is exten
5707, and I've got an xlite on 5608.
When I make a call from an outside line, I dial SIP/5608. The little
blinky light on the GXP that's monitoring 5608 goes, well, "blink
blink". :) I then press

Grandstream GXP-2000 Poor sound Quality
I have upgraded the GXP-2000 to the newest firmware
1.0.1.12<http://1.0.1.12>and the phone is much more usable However, I
still have two slight sound
quality issues:
1) There is static on the line at all times. It is not that noticable to me,
but when I make calls out the PSTN the person on the other end hears it. If
I use a Cisco ATA with an analog phone and call the same person again

Grandstream GXP-2000's and Asterisk.
I have 5 GXP 2000's with firmware 1.1.4.25 running with Asterisk 1.4.13.
Is anyone else getting the following error in the asterisk console:
[Oct 22 11:39:01] WARNING[7100]: rtp.c:1142 ast_rtp_read: RTP Read too short
every couple of seconds when a handset is in a call?
I didn't notice this happening when I was using an older GXP2000 with
the same firmware (doesn't mean that it

Grandstream GXP-1200 & G.722?
Can anyone here have experience using G.722 on the Grandstream GXP-1200?
It's supposed to support the codec, but I wonder if the handset does it
justice?
The older BT-200 also supported the codec, but the handset was not good
enough. You could only hear the improved call quality using a headset.

setting a dialplan on a GXP-2000 Grandstream
Hi,
I looked at the docs and probably missed it: is there a way to set a
dialplan on the GXP-2000? (to avoid having to press "Send")
Thanks,

Just a quick question. Does the GrandStream GXP-2000 phone support presence (hints)?

FYI, spoke with Grandstream this morning, the GXP-2000 release has been
delayed again. Looking like April now before these hit the street.

How to do Automatic Daylight Saving on Grandstream GXP-2000
Hi,
I'd set the daylight saving option to yes on all the GXP-2000 phones, but
apparantly it doesn't move it an hour back on last sunday of October. So now
I am stuck will all the phones showing the wrong time. Isn't there an option
so that it'll automatically update daylight savings?
Thanks

Grandstream RTP keepalive packets causing Asterisk warning
Grandstream GXP-2000 with firmware 1.1.4.18 (beta) fixes an issue where
the phone did not send rtp keepalives when on mute (resulting in
disconnect from tech support hold and concalls)
A side effect seems to be that Asterisk pops the following warning on
the console...
Jul 26 14:06:35 WARNING[31654]: rtp.c:463 ast_rtp_read: RTP Read too short

Grandstream web configuration utility
I just purchased a Grandstream gxp-2000, budgetone102 and a HT-386.
Browsing to each device by IP address, I can get logged in using admin
and I can see the advanced settings, however, if I try to change the
settings and clicking the Change button, it just brings me back to ask
for the password again..
I can't get into the Status page or any of the Account1-4 pages either.
It just keeps

Bug Help or Suggestion - Grandstream GXP2000 (firmware 1.0.2.8) - BLF, Hints, call-limit
Version - Asterisk SVN-trunk-r12793M (1.2.4)
I have 4 Grandstream GXP 2000 phones configured. However at the moment,
I have had to disable BLF, Hints, and Call Limiting due to an extremely
annoying bug which seems to make the phones channels "lock" in busy
after a call has been hungup.
If I do a show hints after say extension 200 has hung up I get the

echo sidetone grandstream and tdm400p
Hi all,
thanks to the all of you. This list is very interesting also for a newby like me.
My problem: I just setup my first full working asterisk installation with this
config:
1. n.1 GXP-2000
2. n.4 Budgetone 102
3. n.1 TDM400p (3 FXS, 1 FXO)
Everything seems to work fine, but the sidetone... it's really annoying!
We can hear the sidetone only when we call to the outside (PSTN), it
