sidetone
Hi -
I've got a new install with a Sangoma A200 and a few GXP2000's. When
users are talking over the Sangoma, they get a lot of sidetone (local
echo). Internal calls are fine. Where do I adjust that? I assume
its in zapata.conf somewhere?
thanks

Asterisk + BudgeTone (behind NAT)
I'm using Asterisk on a open server (no firewall or NAT) and trying to
communicate with a Grandstream BudgeTone 102 SIP phone which is behind
NAT. The BudgeTone is at firmware level 1.0.4.30 and Asterisk is from CVS
about a week ago. My problem is that I'm only getting half-duplex
communication -- I can hear voice from the Asterisk server but the server
does not understand any voice from

surge protector?
I lost one channel on an FXO module on a Sangoma A200 card due to a
lightening zap in the area (well - it died the same night as a major
thunder storm came through).... Is there a recommended/standard
surge protector for phone lines I should be using? My server has 2
POTS lines.
thanks

Budgetone and NAT not working
I have a couple of Budgetones that I am playing with trying to get them
to work with * from a remote network over the Internet (yes NAT joy!).
My * server is in my DMZ and I have 5060 and my RTP range forwarded
(UDP) to my public address (through a Cisco PIX). Internally, I can
setup my budgetone, it registers and works great. I then have a Linksys
router connected to another Internet

Grandstream GXP2000 Loses Connectivity
I have 20-30 GXP2000's connected to * over a T1 line. Neither end is
NAT'd and there is plenty of bandwidth available over the line. The
GXP's are 1.1.5.15, which is the latest. I have a problem where the
phones keep dropping off of * and I get a "failed to register" message
in the log of *. Sometimes they eventually connect and sometimes, I
have to reboot them to

config template for Grandstreams
I'm preparing to deploy a small number of Grandstream BT101's and
GXP2000's to a remote location (which I won't have access to). I'd
like to have them pull a config file from my server - I'm almost
there...
The phones are looking for the config file on my webserver which is
good. I need to generate that file however. I see a tool on the GS
website to generate

GrandStream Budgetone Phone & DHCP & General Observations
Symptom: Phone after about 15mins will stop functioning
Problem: DHCP lease renewed but default route dropped
Fix: Assign a static ip and problem is resolved. Upgrade to new firmware once it is released
It turn's out that these phones have a few issue in 1.0.3.81 firmware. The phone may stop transmitting packets if configured with DHCP, if DHCP is being provided by certain devices. Netopia

Registering a Grandstream Budgetone with Asterisk from Home
Hello guys,
I ask you to share your experience with your BudgeTone 100....
I have my asterisk @ work and I've bought a GrandStream BudgeTone (SIP
phone) and I usually use X-Lite
I have plugged my BudgeTone into my home network because I want to be
called even at home.
I succeed to register my X-Lite with Asterisk from home but I can't do
that with my BudgeTone. (I don't know

popups, queue & agents
Hi everyone -
I have a nicely working system to which I'd like to add popups for
incoming calls. Calls go into a queue, then all extensions ring.
I'd like the agent that answers to call to get the popup on screen.
I'm currently using Flash Operator Panel to get a popup (other
suggestions welcome). Currently, all users get a popup when the call
first goes into the queue

Sipura 2000 behind NAT issue, Vonage is working
Hi,
I'm trying to configure Sipura 2000 (behind NAT) which connects to
Asterisk (public IP, no NAT) and having interesting results. When Sipura
is behind Linux/NAT firewall it works great and no special NAT settings
on Sipura are necessary. The issue I'm having is when Sipura is behind
Linksys broadband NAT router. Sipura gets registered with Asterisk just
fine, but I can't hear

"Real" API for Perl?
Hi, all. I've used the perl/AGI interface, and... well, I found it kind
of hokey. Granted, this was in 1.2 days -- perhaps things have changed.
Regardless, I guess I have two questions:
1) Has the Perl/AGI "binding" improved since then?
2) Is there any chance of a "real" API for Perl?
Thanks much!

SIP: difference between Grandstream and Cisco when behind NAT
I have used Grandstream phones for years, and have just started testing
a Cisco 7940 (with SIP firmware 7.4). I have found something puzzling
and don't know whether it's just a limitation or something I haven't
done correctly.
The Asterisk server is directly on the Internet with a public IP.
The phones are on a private LAN with a NAT router to the Internet.
The sip.conf entries for

(no subject)
Hello everyone! I'm planning on setting up a new system shortly and
can't pick the right card... We will have 2 or 3 lines coming in and
7 extensions (GXP2k's). Should I just get 2 or 3 X100P cards? Or do
I need the Sangoma A20200 or even the A20200D (Echo cancelation)...
I was thinking I'd use a Dell 2.0 GHz machine as the server... If
anyone has suggestions as to

Sangoma Remora A202
Hi - I just got a Sangoma A200 card with a single 2FXO module and
what appears to be an empty module. I put the card in my Dell GX260,
but the power light on the front of the box just blinks and won't
power up. I did take the power cable from the CDROM to put on the
card - I don't need the CDROM right now..
I'm looking for direction in getting this card working - I currently

Budgetone 101 phones ? SIP through NAT ?
I'm new to VOIP. We are thinking of setting up a VOIP system between a
couple remote offices. I've been lurking on this group for a while.
What is the consensus on these phones:

I'm confused about the SIP protocol... can a SIP phone be located behind
a NATing firewall ?

Best Hardphone (Subjective?)
After working with the Grandstream GXP 2000 series phones, I have
decided that I am quite unhappy with their problems, both voice quality,
volume, features and others. For their price now, there are plenty of
phones to choose from as well.
So subjectively what would be the best Hardphone for a small/medium
business with multiple line support, BLF, etc.
Are the Cisco 7960 the best of the

STUN with one public and one private IP?
I'm finishing up deploying an Asterisk (Trixbox) box at work. Wow, I
thought Asterisk was cool by itself, but Trixbox has made just about
everything turnkey. Great stuff!
So... we're using Grandstream GXP-2000 handsets to connect to the Trixbox,
which sits on our DMZ with a single public IP. I need the phones to work
from random places behind NAT, as well as in the office. I'm using

Grandstream hold one way audio -URGENT
Hi all,
At our customer site i've installed one asterisk server with 20
Grandstream GXP2000's. Firmware 1.0.1.9. When someone dials the
customer, the receptionist picks up, and does an attended transfer (the
'grandstream way') to a collegue. Most of the times this goes ok, but
sometimes, when the receptionist puts the call on hold, and tries te
reconnect to the caller there's
