FREE DOWNLOAD - PRI / T1 Circuit monitoring
I have release my routines for PRI circuit monitoring. You, your client or anyone can be notified by phone, beeper, email or txtmsg that your circuit is down. If Asterisk crashes due to an oscillating circuit (as I have found it sometimes does), sendmail is usually intact and email notification and txt messages will usually get through. If the client has backup lines, and Asterisk remains up,

Linking Asterisk Servers using SIP instead of IAX
I posted a new article on linking Asterisk Servers via SIP instead of IAX on my web site. It is newbie driven, but I think useful for many since the information is in one place. Just search 'Linking Asterisk Servers' and all you will come up with is IAX configurations. http://www.siliconvp.us Regards, Paul Norris -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was

Problem Making a SIP call over a long latency network - Call rejected: 407 Proxy Authentication Required
Hello, We are getting error: Call rejected: 407 Proxy Authentication Required - if a user is trying to call using * over a long latency network (around 600 ms). There is no problem when the same user is trying to make a call with low latency network (around 300 ms). I have included the debug and log messages for Asterisk. This call is done with SJphone, the same problem exists with ATA;

Good ATAs from companies other than Sipura/Linksys?
First of all, I'm not knocking Sipura/Linksys. I have heard very good things about their products. I'm just wondering if they are the only quality shop on the market. I know about the zoom 5801 where you can't dial out the FXO from SIP, only from the FXS port. And I have heard similar about the HT-488 also. I want to know if anyone else makes ATAs where all of the features work

Disable blind xfer
My SIP users need to transmit the "#" key as part of data entry. Asterisk intercepts and initates a transfer function. I'm almost positive I've seen this discussed somewhere, but none of my searches are finding it. Anyone have a handy answer? Large Files Support
I'm having problems with large files access from a Linux system to a Windows 2000 share. The Linux system is Redhat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.7-10zm, smbd is 2.2.1a. I have verified that this release of Linux does support files larger than 2GB. I have created a file 2,752,512,000 bytes in size and can copy, mv, etc., it locally with no problem. If I try to copy it to the windows share it errors

theora test suite
some of you may find this helpful: I've uploaded a short (5 second) raw clip in yuv4mpeg format, associated audio, and batch files to exercise the encoder & decoder examples. In addition I've included the file as compressed (test.ogg), and a longer version as well to test playback sync. Notes: to use MPlayer with the -vo yuv4mpeg option, you need to get the latest release and compile

Speex on Delphi
Hi, I hope it is ok to send questions to this list as a mere user of speex, but I couldn't find any reference to newsgroups or any reference to Delphi in past threads of this list. I would love to use speex in a Delphi application, but the plugin example provided in the speex website is missing a speex DLL and a speex Delphi unit. Does anyone know where I can find them, or how to contact

Speex, what container?
But is there any sound player for windows that plays speex in an ogg container? One more question, besides the source code found in the speex site (like speexenc.c) can you tell me where to find source code developed in C++ (using object oriented programing) that makes it easier to write ogg files with speex content? Speex mode
Using speexenc applicantion (provided in the Speex site) when I try to encode a wav file less than 12,5KHZ in wideband mode it warns that I should do it in narrowband but the time it takes to encode and the final encoded file size are bigger if I use narrowband. The sound quality after decoding seems to be the same. What is the advantage of using narrowband? Thanks. Miguel Gomes

new theora list
A new mailing list has been created -- theora-codecs@xiph.org. This list should be where we discuss issues pertaining to Qucktime and Windows codec implementations, including legacy VP3 codecs for those platforms. We've done this to keep the discussions discrete and focused. There is a pressing need to maintain the existing VP3 codecs until we get Theora up and running. Anyone who is

AW: PlusV algorithm -> CBR
fwiw, there are definitely applications that would use Vorbis but can't until there is a _strict_ CBR mode. Meaning, architecturally the datarate simply cannot exceed X no matter what happens to the quality. Send silence if you have to, but limit the datarate. -dbm -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: winmail.dat Type: application/ms-tnef

good question. I would think beta means the bitstream is more or less stable. Monty? >If June is the goal for public release, is the second milestone the first beta/rc1?
