Tip: Overlay frames per second on fullscreen 3d games
It's often handy to be able to see the current frames per second when testing a game under wine as it allows you to pinpoint where frame rate problems occur and how serious they are. It's easy to get the framerate from wine by setting WINEDEBUG=fps. However, it's not easy to track framerate changes as you play when the game runs fullscreen. Fraps[1] is a good solution to this problem

Weird problem with OpenGl based games (Quake 3 engine)
I will try to explain the best I can - but honestly... it may be hard to
understand what I am talking about anyway...
Problem is like this - whatever I try to play OpenGL based game that uses
Quake 3 engine I got weird mouse "jumps". Let's take Soldier of Fortune 2
Demo as it can be downloaded for free. When in jungle I try to look left or
right - mouse jumps slightly (the

Wine and Counter Strike Source Decreasing Frames Per Second
Hello,
I'm having a strange problem with counter strike source and wine. I run at about 40fps for the first five minutes.. then with every new round, my fps decreases by about 20%... so by round 5 I'm down to 9 fps.
I've tested this with both wine and cedega and get the same results. I'm running Fedora Core 8 on a core 2 duo processor w/ 2gigs of ram and 256MB video card.

Full screen question regarding World of Warcraft
Hi,
I currently switch between Cedega and Wine to play World of Warcraft.
Overall Wine works fine except for 1 issue I have that I want to try and
get fixed. When I play WoW full screened in Cedega, pressing keys such
as Alt and an ability let me cast it upon myself without changing
targets. If Cedega isn't in a full screen mode, this doesn't work. For
Wine though regardless of whether it

Mouse focus in Wine
Hi,
If I play a game in Wine - either Caesar III or Half Life come to
mind right now - they seem to work better for me in a windowed setup
where the game is not full screen and I can still see the rest of my
Gnome desktop in the background. Caesar III plays well under Cedega or
Wine, HL much better under Cedega, but the point being that I've tried
both.
The frustration I've had is

Re: CS:S microphone
Hi,
I also have the same problem, I tried wine with alsa, oss and I tried to jack. I tried really everything here. My microphone works perfectly with Skype and other applications such as audio recorders, but in CS: S (counter-strike source) it crashed on the first day of use.
I use Arch Linux but the same happened with Debian Lenny.
On the first day and everything works the mic (perfect!!) Hours

Gameguard ruins wine?
A little quote from the official cabal forums:
> Playing Cabal on linux is impossible thanks to gameguard, WINE (or Cedega) cannot correctly emulate the environment needed for gameguard to run which causes Cabal to exit with an error. You should check the WINE (and Cedega) websites for other people views/experiences trying to run any gameguard protected game on linux, none of them work.

diablo 1 fun and troubles
I have installed Diablo 1 lately and found Wine can't load the game
succesfully. I see a few frames of Blizzard's intro, then it freezes.
With Cedega 4.0 it works pretty well> I played for a couple hours then found
later I can't load my games back. Ain't that funny? It seems to be a menu
problem. Another thing I noticed with Cedega is, multiplayer hangs really
quick.

flatout2 multiplayer -- cedega yes / wine no
Is there any chance that wine will run flatout2 in multiplayer mode?
If I start multiplayer, it simply hangs.....
But I'm told that flatout2 multiplayer runs fine in cedega ?
Anyone knows a solution for wine?
( Singleplayer flatout 2 runs perfect in wine.)
