Definity Asterisk Caller ID Issue
You should run the 4ESS protocol ("a" on the Definity command "change DS1 board#) as the Definity may not send Display Name for the NI-2 protocol (settings "b" or "d") Remember to make the Asterisk zapata settings consistent with the Definity. On the Definity trunk group form Page 1, change "Codeset to send Display" to "0 (zero)", also make

X broken after up2date
Hello, I've installed Centos 4.2 X86_64 on a PE2800 box with a Radeon 700 card and a generic Dell monitor. After running up2date before putting this box in production and make a reboot I can't get into X anymore, my monitor shows a message "out of sync" and that's it. So I tried logging in via ssh to run 'setup' and to use the X setup program, but it doesn't

axis 1 and axis 2 margin
Hi, I am using axis() to plot axis 1 and axis 2. but now when I used axis(side=1,....) and axis(side=2,.....), there's a big margin between these two axis. does anybody have any idea about how to shrink the margin between these two axis. basically, I want to move axis 1 left so that when I plot axis 3, the margin between axis 1 and 2 and margin between axis 1 and 4 are the same. like this

Discussion on time series analysis and the use and misuse of Differencing
How does the R module ARIMA account for unspecified deterministic structure such as seasonal pulses, level shifts, local time trends and regular pulses without needing to ask the user to intervene to specify this? I have attached a Makradakis paper which hammers Box-Jenkins approach to this problem of nonstationarity. I have also included a recent discussion from stackexchange which you might

Disconnected Calls
Hello. I am running asterisk 1.2.14 on a Dell poweredge with a Digium FXO/FXS card connected to 6 analog lines and using Linksys spa942 phones. My users are complaining of randomly disconnected calls, and when I watch the log (debug warning, notice, error), I don't see any cause. It looks like asterisk is seeing a hangup from the analog end. I have attached my zaptel.conf and zapata.conf.

No dynamic dns updates if client ip changed
Hi, ? I've a problem with the dynamic dns updates. It seems they won't work. ? Most of my clients have a dynmaic IP so sometimes they change. If I do a ping to the name, it tries do ping the old ip insead of the changed new one. ? I tried a "samba_dnsupdate --verbose" and got a looking/checking output and at least a "No DNS updates needed". But the client still has the

"Fixing the Caller-ID Problem", by John Todd for O'ReillyNet
This seems like a piece members of this list would find interesting... === There is growing concern over the interaction of VoIP systems with the legacy PSTN, and the transmission of caller identity data--most notably, Caller ID on the PSTN. It is not always possible, or obvious how, to handle Caller ID data when moving to or from VoIP and the PSTN networks. There are even business models

Issues with Dovecot/Pam/nss_ldap
Hello all. I have experienced an unusual behaviour from dovecot which I believe to be related to some interaction between dovecot and nss_ldap/Pam. Centos/Postfix/mbox(es)/Openldap/dovecot. The box is using PAM with ldap, and is also running BIND, SAMBA, and DHCPD. Dovecot 1.0rc2 from source. I left dovecot at the default, to use PAM for authentication and guess the mailbox. This worked

NFAS Not Passing Audio on B-chan 48,72,96
I have NFAS setup on several quad port T1 cards (Sangoma). It mostly works well with the exception that calls coming in on channels 48,72, and 96 have no audio. I tried removing these channels from zapata.conf with hopes that the channels would not come up or be used. Now I get "Ring requested on unconfigured channel". How can I busyout these these channels so that incoming

any idea why the mail downloading is slow?
Hi! I'm using rc10, but had this problem with previous releases too. Not sure if this is a dovecot problem, but I can not think of anything else. The mail downloading with pop3 is ~very slow, approx. 20 Kbyte / sec. no matter how many mails I've got in my mailbox, or how big are the mails. My ISP provides me a dedicated 100mbit line, and everything else works as fast as expected eg.

How do you like TrixBox?
So I'm sure many of you are using or have tried to use TrixBox. Thus far, I'm in love with it. I haven't had a single snag. Then again, I don't need to get into anything overly nitty gritty with my Asterisk box. What are your views? -- Want a free copy of "TrixBox Made Easy"? Read the contest rules
