So I'm sure many of you are using or have tried to use TrixBox. Thus far, I'm in love with it. I haven't had a single snag. Then again, I don't need to get into anything overly nitty gritty with my Asterisk box. What are your views? -- Want a free copy of "TrixBox Made Easy"? I don't mind Trixbox. The early version did have bugs but 1.2.2 seems to be pretty good. I do prefer not to use Trixbox and use plain Asterisk as you get more control. I have modified conf files in Trixbox, just to have Trixbox overwrite my changes. ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Chris Ramsey Sent: Friday, 13 October 2006 2:20 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: [asterisk-users] How do you like TrixBox? IMHO it can be great and it can be the devil. For some one that just needs a basic system good for them. But for some that thinks that TrixBox is asterisk and if they know that then they are good to go there are problems. A)If something goes wrong they wont know where to start. They only know the GUI. B)They will never know the "real way" of working asterisk. C)They tell people they know asterisk real well, then problems arise which they dont know how to handle and people get turned off by it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris Ramsey To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Sent: Friday, October 13, 2006 6:19 AM Subject: [asterisk-users] How do you like TrixBox? Can't one setup and modify a Trixbox setup, then peruse the conf files, to get familiar with (almost) all things Asterisk? Spoke as one who was not very pleased with their own foray into Trixbox and is still creeping up to speed on Asterisk. joe
I couldn't make it do what I wanted, ring 15 phones for 15 seconds, and then go into a voicemail box. The dial plan looked right in the website, but the calls never went to the mailbox. -ejay -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Chris Ramsey Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2006 11:20 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: [asterisk-users] How do you like TrixBox?
