Project Critique
I have just started laying out the plans for my first project using Asterisk. I am very interested at this stage in getting much needed feedback, critiquing my approach. What are the ups and downs going to be if I develop this project as follows: -The client wants to connect some phone reps in India through a VoIP to their clients. -There will be 3 phone lines, and 1 broadband internet

Asterisk: T1 hunt group setup
Hello everyone, I'm sure someone had an experience arranging hunt-group setup for incoming calls on T1 PRI channels of Digium TE110P card. For instance, I have main DID channel associated with number (555) 222 0001. And I have whole bunch of other DID channels on same T1 card like (555) 222 0090, (555) 222 0091, (555) 222 0093. My goal is when a call comes to the main number which is

Incoming phone line rollover / hunt?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi All, I have a simple question about incoming phone line rollovers. How are these usually done? Is this done at the phone company usually, or is this something that Asterisk or channel bank is capable of? I just need someone to give me a brief explanation how it usually works, and if someone was implementing an Asterisk system, how they would go

Call Queue Manager and DID Digits
I've been asked to create a graphical "call-queue" manager. That is, use the existing call queues application but allow a way to view what's coming and attach information to it. As far as the "attaching information" that's in the realm of my application, but I'm trying to figure out if the internals of queues are exposed through any interface. Any help there?

Incoming Lines Confusion
First off, please, for the love of God, don't cremate me, if I should already know the answer to this! I've installed a small setup for an office who wanted to be able to talk to each other instead of having to rely on MSN to communicate. Weird request, I know, but hey, we do what we need to do to get paid. I installed soft phones, gave everyone an extension, and bingo, they can call and

DID to hunt group?
Asterisk 1.4.2 I have spent much of today trying to make a DID (from SIP GW) ring to 4 extensions in a hunt (roll-over) group. Results from searching docs and forums seem to indicate it is doable and so trivial no one includes an actual example. I can make all 4 exts ring at once with the like of exten => _1655,1,Ringing() exten =>

simultaneous ring - call groups or queues or something else?
Hi, folks: I need to be able to have a single DID ring multiple remote (IP and PSTN) extensions, and then pass the call to whichever picks up first. I'm sure this is old hat -- lots of providers offer it. I see that Trixbox will do it, but it's not clear how it's doing it. They use different terminology -- a "ring group" and "hunt strategy" How can it be done

Realtime Pattern Matching
Hello All, Looking for a little guidance on Real Time Pattern Matching. We are attempting to block outbound 411 via when someone dials NXX-555-XXXX, The must common being NXX-555-1212. However, We have some outbound providers that consider any call to NXX-555-XXXX a directory assistance call. So simply making my pattern _NXX5551212 doesn't work. So as you can see from the lines

Suggestions on how to create a hunt or hunt like (rollover, multi-line) group or where to get one?
I have about 5 incoming USA SIP lines, but my provider does not have any sort of roll-over or huntgroup feature. Does anybody have an idea on how I can create a general number that will ring to the next available, non-busy SIP line that I have? Is there a provider out there that would do this? Any suggestions would be greatly welcome. Thank you. -------------- next part --------------

Issues with Twilio number incoming call and context matching
Hello, I am running Asterisk 13.6.0 in an AWS instance, and I set it up with Twilio SIP trunk using pjsip_wizard.conf (nice feature!). I see that the calls actually "reach" the PBX, but for some reason, they are not caught by any of my extensions context. Here's what I observe when I test this from a non-PBX connected E164 number (a landline), say 555-666-1212. My Twilio number is

FW: DID to hunt group?
Thanks ... I forgot to say I tried it with priorityjumping=yes in the [globals] section of extensions.conf still no go... Gerald, I'll try your suggestion, and try to figure out the result code tests :-) Thanks, Rich > -----Original Message----- > From: Gerald A [mailto:geraldablists at gmail.com] > Sent: Tuesday, October 16, 2007 23:59 > To: rich at isphone.net > Subject:

Call Pickup how to display CND of incoming number
Is it possible to display the incoming calling number on a handset when trying to pick up a call from another handset? I currently have Call Pickup working using *8, I have also used the PickUp application successfully but I'm not sure how to use these features so the handsets show the incoming calling number and not the number that you have dialled to pick up the call. Regards David

Hunt groups and SIP?
I would like to setup a hunt group, not a group ring, using sip phones. Anyone done this with sip devices? Comments suggestions? I have not had much luck with the outgoinglimit=1, incominglimit=1 stuff that I would need to get busy extinctions to work right, which is why I'm asking on the list.

GUI for hunt groups?
Hi, all. I've got an Asterisk box installed that I'd really like to leverage -- and installing a GUI for hunt groups would be awesome. So long as I can have a trial copy, I could even pay money. It would have to be able to make use of both SIP and ZAP extensions. Suggestions? (Note: I wouldn't much care about the GUI, myself, but my boss is all over one.) Thanks! -Ken -- This

Dialed Number Identification in analog hunt group
Does anyone out there know if it is possible to discover the dialed number when a line in an analog hunt group rings? I can't get a straight answer from our IT folks. We have a 5ess switch delivering 4 analog lines which are in a simple hunt group servicing our lab. I would like to have a different call attendant based on which number is dialed so that I can route the calls to the

Gizmo project answers every call - can I use it in hunt group?
Hi, I've set up a Gizmo Project account for access on my Nokia E61 because they work through NAT. Trouble is If I include my gizmo account in an asterisk hunt group and I'm not connected (phone is off / outside wireless coverage) the gizmo project always answers. Either the call goes to voice mail or if I turn voicemail off the call gets answered by a recording saying I'm not

Incoming/Outgoing call question
Hey everyone, I have a more of an opinion question then a technical question. The asterisk server I am setting up is going to host 3 different businesses. Each business is in the same building, and on the same network. My question is regarding calls coming in and going out. We are a small ISP and have a lot of numbers that are forwarded to our phone system. The other companies have about 3

+ on Caller-ID
I've had this discussion in the office and with some vendors, but no one has a solid answer, hopefully someone here does. What is the proper way to format a caller-ID here in the U.S.? Is it: +15705551212 or is it +5705551212 I've always seen it +15705551212, but as I understand it the country code for the US is 011, which to me would indicate you put 011-570-555-1212 as the callback

Same number for each caller, but should reach different zap-channels, how?
Easy questions for you guys probably, I'd like to serve 10 parallell incoming calls at the same time, so I bought a lot of Zap-channel cards for analog phone lines. But I want all users to be able to use the same phone number to dial in, but I want the number to be switched to an avaiable zap-channel. Do I need some kind of switch for this? It sounds reasonable, but I'm not sure. :) Am
