Hi Friends,
I have successfully implemented Intercom, Voicemail and International dialing using Asterisk. Now I want to connect my PSTN Lines to Asterisk server. I have 3 PSTN number (lines) to connect to Asterisk. For this, I want to use Sipura SPA-2100. Is my decession is correct or not? Is there any disadvantages with this Sipura SPA-2100? Please tell me.
Thank you.

Avaya SIP phones (4610SW) and MWI
Hi all,
I'm new to the list, so I apologize in advance if I'm beating a dead horse
by asking this, but I read somewhere that asterisk 1.4 has MWI working for
Avaya and their rather troublesome SIP firmware. Can anyone verify this
before I go changing phone systems around?
Thanks
Derek

Any IP phones with pro-audio connections?
Does anybody know of any IP phones (ideally SIP based) that have
interfaces to plug into a pro audio system (eg for phone interviews).
Something can probably be hacked up with a headset connector or the 1/8"
jacks on a 7970 but I'm wondering if there's something better out there.
Thanks,

No "ringing" being played to remote caller?
Hi all,
I've got a fairly simple setup, a 4 port zaptel T1 card with 1 PRI and 2
flat e&m T1's coming into it, and its working perfectly except for one
small thing. When people dial any of the numbers on either the PRI or
the T1 from outside of the pbx, they dont get the "ringing" sound. It
just directly connects the call. I know this isnt much, but its started

IAX FXS.. Any experience with...
http://www.x100p.com/products_2.htm
Anyone ever use this box? How's it compare with the Iaxy? I'd like to
buy one or the other.. The Iaxy is appealing because to me, it seems
less "no name", but this one says that it supports using hostnames,
whereas apparently the iaxy only supports IP addresses?? That's
appealing to the dynamic DNS guy in me! :-)

Hardphone SIP phone costs
I'm trying to understand something that just doesn't seem to compute.
How can companies like Cisco justify selling their hard phones for as
much as they do? I know there is a matter of recouping R&D costs but
when you look at the iPhone with all its amazing features for less than
$500.00 it just doesn't make sense. Am I the only one that thinks this?

kiax - iax2 softphone
Has anyone on here used kiax before? I am asking because I have it installed
on several computers and have been able to get it to connect and register
to my Asterisk box. I can even call between them and my SIP softphones.
The problem I am having is this: when I use kiax to call someone else, they
get some kind of background music playing while I am talking to them. I have
called from kiax to

Cordless SIP Phones
Can anyone recommend a good cordless user-configurable SIP hardphone that is
readily available in the states and doesn't cost $300? There seem to be a
plethora of decent and affordable corded phones (like from Grandstream) but
the search for a cordless unit seems elusive. I purchased a vtech 8100
online only to discover after receiving it that it is locked to vonage
service.
Thank you.

hangup lag causing the answering of already answered calls
I have a TDM-400P with one FXO module. On an incoming call, I have set
Asterisk to dial my phone (exten => s,1,Dial(IAX2/carey)), which is
basically the only thing in my dialplan.
When the call is answered by the PSTN phone first, or when the ringing
call is hung up, Asterisk keeps ringing for 5+ seconds, which causes
trouble (the answering of already answered calls).

fine-tuning asterisk questions
I have asterisk running more or less ok but I would like to turn off
call waiting and be selective about the incoming sip connections. This
is running asterisk 1.2.8 with a fxs and fxo card and a configured voip
(sip) line. Currently I'm using freePBX 2.1.1 to configure asterisk.
Problem 1) if someone is on the phone already and another call comes in
for an already engaged extension I

New Member, saying Hi. :)
Hello everyone.
I had heard about this open-source PBX once a while back.
I wasn't too interested in it at the time but I kept the info filed away
for possible future use. A couple of days ago, I was walking around Barnes
and Nobles and I found this book, called Asterisk: The Future of Telephony.
I paged through it a little and I was really excited by what I read. Then
I remembered the

Router Recommendations Please
Hello all,
We've discovered that VoIP (IAX2) + Citrix + Video is pegging the measly
CPU on the Netopia router our ISP provided. We've got 3Mb/3Mb and will
increase to 4/4 next year.
The Netopia simply breaks out our WAN IPs, and we've got a switch hooked up
to it on the inside (Actually I've got a QoS box in-between).

PRI & Fax Passthrough
Hi all,
Just a quick query about something that my manager has asked about.
While I have talked with Asterisk people about this before, I forget the
actual answer.
We currently have an ISDN 30 installed on a Dell 2850, using a single
port Digium ISDN card. We would like to add an analogue card, plug our
fax machine in and have Asterisk simply detect the fax and pass it
through to the fax

Question setting up a "bat phone" extension.
Basically, I am looking to set up an extension which will be used as a "help-line".
I want it to function kind of like the bat phone from the old Batman series,
where Commissioner Gordon would pick up the extension in his office and it
would ring the phone back at Wayne's mansion. Is there a way to duplicate
this functionality with Asterisk?
I just need asterisk to auto-dial an

Ultrabook for CentOS?
Hello,
I need to buy an ultrabook. Any recommendations for something that
would work out of the box more or less?
I do not want a Chromebook (or anything ARM) or one of these new
"touch" laptops, in fact I'm after a nice matte screen. Budget is
modest-ish (?500/$800) so dont go crazy. :)
Thanks!
