I have several Windows executable that do run under Wine, and that only install a number of files in a directory, and modify the registry so that the main GPS mapping app can find and use them. From a complete Wine newbie: I use Wine to run apps related with GPS receivers. I have upgraded from 0.9.33 which came with Mandriva 2007.1 Spring to 0.9.46 from WineHQ.
