Most people seem quite positive about Snom phones, I cannot share this opinion. The displays are dying quite often, and firmware is buggy. I have tried every firmware from 4.5 up to 5.x and 6.04 but keep having problems with phones locking up or rebooting during an ongoing conversation. If you look at the specs on the Dlink box that Primus gives you, you will see that it is SIP. I am sure Primus has a SIP platform because we have played with it. We managed to use it on MSN's SIP phone as well as couple Zultys ZIP2x2 hard phones. Their PC-Phone app is also a SIP soft phone. If you are registering to sip.iprimus.net then it is definitely their SIP platyform not MGCP.

Hello, I just bought a Snom-320 from ATAComm. I plugged it into my LAN, registered it with *, etc. All my other SIP gear is Sipura and works fine, both on the LAN and over the Internet. The new Snom seems like it can't process the audio from the handset mic. A steady tone is garbled, even on the LAN. I've contacted ATAComm, Snom and the company representing Snom in the US. So

I have been playing with asterisk for a couple of weeks now and I have been very happy with its performance. However, I have run into a problem with how I want to deploy this solution. I have a mix of softphones (SJ and Xlite), ATA's, and a couple of IP phones (Snom 190). The asterisk box is on the public network. For my primary users they will reside behind a watchguard 4500 firewall.

Hi, I have succeed using Asterisk on VMWare on an Athlon@1GB with 128 MB allocated for the Linux virtual machine. I have connected this PBX with another one using IAX/GSM. I can call the other part and the sound is great, without any interruption. Hello, I've successfully installed Asterisk from last CVS and configured it for using with DLINK-DG104S as mgcp CPE and PGW2200 as external sip server. All are work fine at G711 codecs, but then I disable all codecs except g729 some calls failed (Not all calls. Some calls passed at g729 succesfully).
