similar to: Wine RPM and Mandriva 2007

I am new to Linux (not to R) and recently installed Mandriva Spring 2007 on my partitioned hard drive. My next objective is to install R in the Linux environment, unfortunately Mandriva is not one of the Linux distributions available for download... Hi Tom and folks, Mandriva is shipping shorewall in its main distribution for some time now. It is built on a custom .spec, but I keep it in sync with latest versions of shorewall package. I heard that there were some issues with Mandriva''s package of shorewall, but it was before I started working on it, and the guys that were maintaining it before are no longer working on it.

Are there any R rpm's for Mandriva 2008.1? I found a couple of dodgy ones that wouldn't install so far (rpmfind.net). (Sorry that seems so far the only Linux distribution that recognizes my hardware on my new laptop correctly. I'm more familiar to Fedora and Suse so perhaps I'm just doing something wrong?) Joanne

Hi, I've tried to compile syslinux under mandriva, and the compilation always bails out because it hasn't created win32/syslinux.exe. Is there any way I can get PulseAudio working with Wine 1.1.28? I just compiled (first install on this OS) of Wine from the website, and I only had the choice of OSS as my driver.
