[OT] RedHat's licence, CentOS rebuild
Hello, I've been talking with some friends about the Redhat's SRPMs release issue. I've been reading the trademarks and some points of GPL. But get some confusion around the questions: Is redhat forced to release the sources of its product? Is redhat forced, due GPL licence, to make the sources of its product available to others (including those who don't buy the distro), and

Red Hat CEO: Go Ahead, Copy Our Software
http://www.businessinsider.com/red-hat-ceo-go-ahead-copy-our-software-2013-8 Title says is all. Nice to know RH understands and accepts the relationship between CentOS and RHEL. Although it is complex. After all, if too many choose CentOS, there may no longer be a CentOS. However, I don't think I would refer to CentOS as a "parasite" as the author Matt Asay does. [CentOS-devel] Authorization to use CentOS logo in GNOME Boxes
Thanks Rich for drawing this forward, I had missed it. (I generally handle all the trademark usage queries.) The key reference is this one, the trademark guidelines: https://www.centos.org/legal/trademarks/ That document should give the GNOME project all of the authorization and guidelines on how to use and not use the CentOS marks. using RedHat binary packages?
Hi folks, AFAIK CentOS uses RedHat's source RPMs for building the next CentOS release. I am not sure about the bootstrap procedure and the infra- structure packages, so lets put these corner cases aside. RedHat's "regular" binary and source packages are based on open source (GPL2, GPL3, Apache license, whatever). For building the binary RPMs other open source RPMs with

Bug#391935: The answer from Citrix & Xen.org
Hi, I simply asked to upstream for a clarification on the use of the Xen trademark, and received two unambiguous answers. From Citrix: Actually, for the community, you can do whatever you like. The FIT test only applies to commercially distributed Xen products - and is about ensuring compatibility between vendors. Do you need more detail than that?

Authorization to use CentOS logo in GNOME Boxes
People, Firstly, sorry for the cross-list post (centos-devel and centos-docs). I'd like to reach you in order to ask for a formal authorization to use CentOS logo on GNOME Boxes[0]. GNOME Boxes already shows a few other distro's logos as you can check here[1]. Would be possible to get the explicit confirmation that we could use CentOS logo as well? [0]:

[OT] new R logo in vector graphics format
L.S. Since some time there is a new r-project.org site as announced here: https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-announce/2015/000581.html The logo has changed on the site, but I fail to find a vector graphics file. For the previous logo I used to go to https://svn.r-project.org/R-dev-web/trunk/Logo/ Is there anything similar for the new logo? Many thanks in advance. Kind regards, Tobias --

Diff files to be made publicly available.
I plan to highlight the differences between RHEL and CentOS 3.1. Making this information clearly available without the need for duplicated effort across the world. This will help others take CentOS in different directions benefiting us all. It will help individuals create new projects more easily and efficiently. Are the diff files readily available, can I download them from anywhere? If the

Not with the trademark, that is mis-appropriation. If you want to complain about Red Hat doing this, then you'll want to complain about a number of distributors well before
