I just implemented a system using a TE411P hardware echo cancellation card. Per Digium, I setup zaptel.conf, and zapata.conf the same way as I always have. To my surprise calls out to the PSTN had a terrible echo. 1 - 2 second delay, and quite clear. The echo was so bad that I had to remove the hardware echo cancellation module from the card. We are only using the 1st span of this card right

I changed from a TE410P to a TE411P and fax carriers weren't detected anymore ! I have tried everything (recompile zaptel+asterisk+spandsp ; echocancel=yes/no ; rxgain=0/txgain=0 ; increase Wait() ; ...), nothing worked. The only solution that worked for me was to install and use NVFaxDetect. HTH.

I have seen conflicting references in regards to the Digium Wildcard TE411P echo settings in zapata.conf. Does anyone have the official word on this? Should echo cancel be enabled in zapata.conf if the card has built in EC? If so, should a particular EC method be compiled into the zaptel build? Hi, I just got hold on an Orion E1 30 port GSM Gateway, and I am having problems trying to get the E1 link to come up. I am using Asteisk 1.2.12 with a Sangoma A101 card. I am quite familiar with E1's, both the Digium and Samgoma types, as I have successfully hooked up to many PBX's and such, but I just cant seem to get this one to work. None of the 30 channels 'come up'.

The sever is a 2.8Ghz P4 with 2 GB of ram, and is only for routing PSTN connections to another * server. List, I just tried to swap out our 410 for a 411 and we started have problems with on of our T1's. Setup: Span 1 - Dedicated PRI for long distance. Span 2 - 12 channels fxs_gs outgoing local. 12 Channels em_w incoming DID's. I didn't have any problems with the PRI. The trouble was with the T1. We were unable to place any local calls, and all incoming DID's where garbled.
