ztdummy on Gentoo 2.6.10 Box
Hi Everyone,
I read through the list on the issues with the ztdummy driver which I
need for MeetMe, but I seem to have come across a problem that I cannot
seem to find an answer for.
I am running Gentoo 2.6.10 on an Intel box.
I have read the the wiki entries on the ztdummy and followed the
instructions as they relate to the 2.6 kernel.
Everything compiled great, but a modprobe ztdummy

What's the best ztdummy?
I have several servers using ztdummy as the timing source, some CentOS
4.x, some CentOS 5.x, some Asterisk 1.2.x, some Asterisk 1.4.x.
"zap show status" differs between the servers:
ZTDUMMY/1 (source: Linux26) 1 UNCONFIGUR 0 0 0
ZTDUMMY/1 (source: RTC) 1 UNCONFIGUR 0 0 0
ZTDUMMY/1 1 UNCONFIGUR 0

modprobe ztdummy - failed
Hi all,
I have a problem starting the ztdummy. Here is what happens:
[root@asterisk /]# modprobe ztdummy
Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf
line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'
1 error(s) detected
FATAL: Error running install command for ztdummy
After this, ztdummy is visible with lsmod, but when I try MeetMe, I get

Problems with CentOS ztdummy kernel 2.6
Hi List,
I am having some trouble with installing the latest version of ztdummy on a
CentOS Kernel 2.6 system.
I have installed a few Asterisk systems on Slackware Kernel 2.4.x without
any issues, unfortunately there is no choice about this distro, or kernel as
it has been preinstalled by someone else. And so I am in the dark with an
unfamiliar distro and kernel.
I am fairly sure the

ztdummy/rtc
Hello,
Maybe I'm missing something here. What is the proper way to use RTC
with ztdummy now?
I'm using -HEAD from a day or two ago on Linux 2.6.11.11.
In zaptel/Makefile, I changed CFLAGS to:
CFLAGS+=-I. -O4 -g -Wall -DBUILDING_TONEZONE -DUSE_RTC
#-DTONEZONE_DRIVER
and I get..
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.11.11/build SUBDIRS=/usr/src/zaptel modules

ztdummy
The USB core was completely rewritten in 2.6, and as such the functions
that ztdummy depends on do
not exist in 2.6. I get the feeling that these changes are too much to
easily fix ztdummy, so I don't
expect to see it working on 2.6 any time soon (if ever)
I made some small changes to zaprtc to work on 2.6 and I have MoH and
Meetme functions working
fine in my lab. For production I would

Installed ztdummy, Asterisk doesnt work anymore
Hi
Since Im using the mISDN drivers and no zaptel stuff, I had to install
ztdummy to get MeetMe to work. Well, that was the plan. Now, after getting
the latest zaptel version over CVS (Im using Kernel 2.6), uncommenting all
the modules except ztdummy in zaptel.sysconfig file and compiling this by
"make", "make install" and "make linux26", I rebooted and

Problems building zaptel 1.4.4
Hi,
I'm having trouble compiling zaptel 1.4.4 on SUSE 10.1. I'm really
only interested in getting ztdummy to work because this is a dev
machine with no zaptel h/w. SUSE 10.1 is a 2.6 kernel:
asterisk-dev:/home/hugh # uname -r
2.6.16.13-4-default
It seems that my problem is related to autoconf.h - I cannot find that file:
asterisk-dev:/home/hugh # find / -name 'autoconf.h'

ztdummy and Linux 2.6.13-rc7
Anybody having issues with ztdummy under the current 2.6 RC7? I get the
following errors when trying to modprobe ztdummy:
"Unable to register zaptel rtc driver"
Doing a Google on the error shows reference to a message from 2004 that
said you might not have RTC compiled into the kernel. Checking via:
cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.13-rc7
grep -i rtc .config
shows:

"That is not a valid conference number.." with ztdummy running
I previously had Asterisk 1.0.7 running on a Linux 2.4.x kernel with
ztdummy. I was able to do things like meetme and music on hold. I
recently installed Asterisk 1.0.9 on a different machine with a Linux
2.6.x kernel running ztdummy. I installed and configured everything the
same way, but when I try to call into a conference room I get the error
message stating, "that is not a valid

FW: zaptel 1.4.0 on Fedora Core 6 x86_64
I tried to test Asterisk 1.4 on FC6 x86_64. I have it working on FC5 x86_64
very good, but since FC keeps updating, I tried to follow newer kernel
versions.
I can't pass the zaptel compilation. Everything is OK, but when I finished,
and tried to load it, allways got module not found when I run modprobe
zaptel, and modprobe ztdummy.
I already tried to modify is with the sed 1 option but

Problem compiling ztdummy on centos 4, 2.6 kernel
Hi all,
I hope everyone is doing well. I just joined the list, and I've really
enjoyed all I have read about asterisk so far. Unfortunately, I'm having a
bit of trouble implementing this thing :).
By the way ... I did my best to search the forums, and also to use google
extensively, and while I have found pages with people with the same problem,
... The fix suggested on those sites,

ztdummy compile again
Hi,
I'm still strugling with getting an easy to use conference system
implemented. I did have app_conference running, but today I upgraded
asterisk to 1.0.9 and it stopped working. I've tried following the
instructions for compiling app_conference on 1.0.7 but it didn't work.
So I went back to ztdummy (I've not had any luck getting this to compile
on FC2).
Anyhoo, I've

MAKEing zaptel and ztdummy on SuSE 9.3 - Repost
Hi,
Sorry to re-post, but I'm still having hassles with ztdummy. I'm using
kernel 2.6.11.4-21.7-smp and Asterisk 1.0.8 on SuSE 9.3
The first 3 makes (see below) for zaptel work out ok - but the
ztdummy.ko (etc) files *are* created even though I haven't yet
uncommented ztdummy in Makefile.
If the ztdummy bits are compiled, why edit Makefile & run make again?

modprobe Ztdummy is not working
Hi,
I've install zaptel and I don't have a Digium card installed in the machine.
So I want to install ztdummy to have Music On Hold working. I've follow
these instruction http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+timer+ztdummy and
at the point "modprobe ztdummy" it's failing. I'm getting these messages:

MAKEing zaptel and ztdummy
Hi,
I'm following the instructions on Asterisk Doc Proj:
astersik_1.0.8/docs/docs-html_one/vm1.html#AEN30 and they don't seem to
work out.
The order suggested is:
cd zaptel
make clean
make linux26
make install
vi Makefile (and uncomment ztdummy)
make
modprobe zaptel
modprobe ztdummy
The first 3 makes for zaptel work out ok - but the ztdummy.ko (etc)
files *are* created.
If the
