Delay on calls
Hi,
I have a 1.2.4 * box with two HFC modems using chan_modem_i4l and
several SIP phones and ATA's.
We have a terrible delay on calls between the PSTN (isdn BRI) and the
SIP phones. All internal calls are fine. My first thought was that the
transcoding could cause the delay but all of the SIP phones default to
ulaw so there should not be any transcoding needed.
I also checked the load

Processor Size
Can someone give me an idea of the processor power I will need for 1 x
TDM240 with 2xquad FXO's and 8 sip phones/ATA's on a quite 100Mbit LAN.
The machine we have available of hand is a P4 1GHz with 768MB RAM.

1.2.4/7 and chan_modem
Hi,
I am currently running several * boxes on 1.0.9 with HFC chipset ISDN
modems using i4l's hisax driver and chan_modem.
Will I be able to use my existing chan_modem setup with 1.2.4 or 1.2.7
or will I need to change it to use bristuff or chan_capi?
I want to do the upgrade with as little changes as possible.
Thank you

SIP group management
Hi
can i set up a group of SIP users and forward a call to it?
I am looking for a group, not for a queue.
I won't listen any musinc on hold, and i won't that someone has to pay
if nobody of the user's in the group accept the call.
Can i do that?

Sirrix PC140 Quad card
Hi,
I have just installed a Sirrux PC140 card for the first time. Managed
to build the drivers and get * to load them on FC4, but it does not work.
It seems that layer1 in the ISDN is not even activated. The same ISDN
lines connected to a Samsung DCS works so it is not the lines.
I am including my sirrix.conf and the output of some of the * Srx
commands below. Any pointers would be

Leftover sound on isdn modem channel
Hi,
I have a strange problem on some isdn modem channels. (* 1.0.9 /
chan_modem / 2xHFC-S cards).
Everything works fine but when the 2nd (and 3rd etc..) call comes in and
* answers and there is about a 1/2 second of sound from the previous
call (ivr) before the sound from the new call is heard. It just sounds
bad and is quite annoying.
I am assuming this is sound that is still in a buffer

E100P pinouts anyone?
Just cross pairs 1-2 and 4-5
1 <--> 4
2 <--> 5
Never done an E1, but I think it's the same for a T1 4 wire cable.

I have used cross-connect wire from the spool to make T1 crossover cables with RJ45 ends. All that matters is that pin one goes to four and two goes to five on both ends.

The "telco guys" probably did something non-industry standard and reversed send and receive in the jack that they plugged the CAT5 into. Sure it works, sure it is easier, sure it is not the correct way of doing things.
Thanks,
Steve

I agree. I haven't had a problem using CAT-5, even for long runs, however it's not a real T-Carrier cable and I didn't know how old the PBX is.
