functional difference: canreinvite=yes, no, or update
Can anyone give an example of the difference between the following: canreinvite=no canreinvite=yes canreinvite=update Here is the problem: I have an 800 number sent to me via SIP from a national carrier. Asterisk gets the number and rings my desk phone. Asterisk has 2 NICs, one with public IP and private IP. My phone is on private IP, the inbound call is on public. My phone rings and I answer

canreinvite always =no * no matter what we try :-(
been testing with a rather simple setup. The mission is to actually get a reinvite to work on the lan. I am trying with two sipura phones G.711 codec forced on both both on the lan no nat no fancy options suchs as tT or H No matter what we do asterisk hangs on to the media path, how in the world do I get a reinvite to work where the media path is actually handled by the two phones on the lan?

AEL and swap from macros to contexts
Hi, according to discussion on asterisk IRC, where people said, that macros will be depracated, I tried to migrate from macros to contexts and Gosub but if I try to use gosub in extensions.ael, ael compiler complains, that I shouln't use Gosub app, but I can't find ael keyword, that will be Gosub equivalent, or can I ignore this ael warnings? thanks PJ LOG: lev:3 file:pval.c

Selective canreinvite in multi-tenant environment
Hello, all. In our multi-tenant environment, we would like to be able to use the reinvite media redirection within Asterisk for calls within a tenant but not between tenants. We would like inter-tenant calls to be fully proxied by the Asterisk server. I think the answer is, "we can't," but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'd dearly like to remove the substantial traffic

SIP client<->NAT<->Asterisk<->NAT<->SIP client. only works with canreinvite=no.
Hi! I have this configuration: SIP client A <-> NAT box A (real external IP) <-> Asterisk server (real IP) <-> (real external IP) NAT box B <-> SIP client B The echo test form any of the clients to the asterisk server is working just fine, even without canreinvite=no. When I try to call from SIP client A to B, wihtout the canreinvite=no in the sip.conf, the call

how to define a secure trunk
Hello I would like to define a trunk from my Asterisk to a VoIP provider, but I want to make it secure, because its through the Internet. I want to be sure no one makes calls as being me, and that my calls aren't intercepted. Is it possible to define encrypted trunks? And should I define the trunk in SIP, IAX or something else? Thanks Joao Pereira

SIP->h323 problem DTMF
I've configured Asterisk 0.7.2 to work together with Cisco ATA186 (SIP,G.711. RFC2833) and OpenPhone (H.323, G.711). But there is an issue while calling from ATA186 to OpenPhone via Astrisk - when I press any key on analogue phone connected to ATA, Asterisk shows following message: -- Executing Dial("SIP/519-3781", "OH323/62.213.36.100|20|Tt") in new stack --

Cisco Call Manager 4.0 to Asterisk, Anyone have SIP Reinvite working?
Hi All, I haven't started sip traces or debug yet, but was wondering what the deal is with the CCM and reinvite, why it doesn't work with Asterisk (using 1.2.9.1). I can make calls back and forth all day with canreinvite=no, when I try to reinvite an inbound sip call from the CCM with Asterisk server 1 to Asterisk Server 2, I get one-way audio issues. All the RTP ports are configured

canreinvite per route
Can I activate/deactive the canreinvite SIP flag on the dial plan? canreinvite question
Is it possible to allow reinvites to/from specific devices? For example; exten 2001 and 2002 can reinvite to each other, but not 2003 and 2004 exten 2003 and 2004 can reinvite to each other, but not 2001 and 2002 Can that be done? Devices 2001 & 2002 are behind one firewall, and 2003 & 2004 are behind another. Tim

does astcanary really work?
A week ago, I tried give realtime priority to asterisk proces using -p switch, asterisk was running inside astcanary, but yestarday asterisk probably starts eating all cpu and lock any access to computer, only ping was possible, so, anybody have experience, that ascanary process does really work to lower process priority in case of overloading? canreinvite problems
Hi, I've been working on migrating my asterisk from zap to sip (due to compatibility issues between my TDM400P and my Hauppauge PVR500). I've purchased a Linksys SPA-3102 and a Siemens Gigaset SL75 WLAN (wireless SIP phone). I managed to get it all working with my asterisk 1.4.0 installation, but I'm seeing some interesting things with the canreinvite option that I can't explain,

RE: In Asterisk 1.4.x, Why Digium has two H323 channels?
Hi Users, Administrators and Pavel Jezek, You prefer chan_h323 from asterisk tree and it's of course that use channels by tree is very good. But in 1.2.x, the chan_h323 is very simple and the chan_oh323 is so bad. And I work with chan_ooh323, that it's too from Digium and work good! And I am Studing one possible change to Asterisk 1.4.x , but in 1.4.x the oh323 channel don't have more,

reinvite
I've never used "reinvite" in systems I have installed to date, and I have finally run across a situation where it would be preferred. A remote office has a flaky Internet connection. With G729 encoding the calls to the central office over the 'net are tolerable. One Linksys 2102 drives two phones at this location, and when the first one calls the second one it travels to

Callmanager 3.3(5) and Asterisk with ooh323
I have experience problems like this in a different scenario. It is usually due to codec translation problem. What is the default codec set on CCM for the IP Phone and the default set in Asterisk? Make sure the defaults are the same. Try G.711 Michael

How to tell if asterisk is handling media or not?
I'm trying to get my asterisk server to reinvite. I have two asterisk servers with public IP's. My users (behind NAT) register on one server (I'll call it server 1), and for some calls they are transfered over to the other server (server 2), because that server has the E1's. I want server 1 to be in the signaling path for billing reasons, but handling the media stream is killing
