WiFi phones and WDS (Wireless Distribution System)
I'm about to start working with WiFi phones on my Asterisk installations. Can anyone tell me if they are using WiFi phones on wireless network that is extended with WDS and how well the phone handles jumping from access point to access point while on a call? Do any WiFi phones support WPA encryption or are they all still under the impression they are only being used on public hot spots?

WiFi SIP phones
Greetings list, What are people's experiences with WiFi SIP phones? When I last looked into them about 18 months ago, they were incredibly expensive, had very limited range and poor battery life. In the end, it worked out much more cost effective to simply use ATAs + DECT cordless phones where there was a requirement for portable devices. I assume things must have moved on somewhat since

UTStarcom F1000 - WLAN connection unreliable
Hi list, I bought two UTStarcom F1000 phones, pre-equipped with the latest firmware, including WPA support. Those are configured to register to an asterisk server on the internet (not LAN), and registration works. Calling and being called also, with transfer and all bells and whistles. After a few minutes up to 5 hours (varies widely), the display tells me that an Accesspoint is not available

[OT] Wifi SIP phones - LinkSys WIP330
Hi List, Hope everyone is recovering from the festive season :) (ok we still have new years i guess!) Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has had any successful dealings with WiFi phones and operation with '*' at all? I've been keeping my eye on the LinkSys WIP330 ( http://preview.tinyurl.com/nccxn ) and wondered your collective thoughts? Would I be correct in thinking that (as

SIP/WiFi handsets?
Anyone know of any *portable* SIP/WiFi handsets? Looking for a decent price:quality ratio, of possible. Keep seeing handsets for Vonage, etc., in Best Buy and the like, but I imagine it's locked to Vonage, and can't be re-appropriated. [OT] IAX2 WiFi phone?
Does such a beastie exist? I've tried a couple of UT Starcom WiFi SIP phones (the F1000g and F3000 respectively), and found them both to be seriously lacking - regular crashes (especially the F3000), poor battery life, and poor reception in particular. However, whilst SIP phones are great, I'd really like an IAX2 phone if there is one, as I can make that work "natively" though

UTStarcom F1000 WiFi IP Phone Review
I bought a UTStarcom F1000 WiFi IP Phone from http://www.luxoncomm.com and tested it with Asterisk. This is a my first impression of the device. The F1000 supports SIP. It looks and operates like a cell phone, and connects to the Internet through WiFi, so you can use it at any WiFi hotspot. I set up a 802.11b wi-fi network with a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless-B broadband router with no security

WiFi IP Phones
Guys. I know there are wifi sip phones out there but I have a question, are any of these phones "anti explosive"? By that I mean, there are certain regulations about phones or cel phones that are not recommended to operate in environments like gas stations due to sparks and the chance of ingiting gas fumes. Are there any wifi sip phones out here that have complaince with regulations to

F3000 registering to asterisk
Hi, I have an F3000 phone that I am trying to register to asterisk. As far as I can tell I have everything in correct. Are there any little quirks I need to worry about? The phone has internet access, set it's time.. I can access the web config, but it just won't register with asterisk. I don't see anything meaningful in the full log.

[xen-unstable] FATAL PAGE FAULT when shutting down guest with pci passthrough using MSI interrupts
Hi Jan, It seems the last changes to xen-unstable to implement multi-msi-irq''s cause some trouble. The guest starts and works fine. But it causes a xen crash when shutting the guest down. (xen_changeset: Thu Jul 4 16:01:06 2013 +0100 git:d4435fe) If you need more info than given below in the serial log snippet, just say so .. -- Sander (XEN) [2013-07-17 19:10:09] AMD-Vi: Share p2m

Linksys WIP300 WiFi Phone
Whoo hoo! I just received my WIP300 from voipsupply. I have to let it charge before I can play with it. A few quick comments: - I started a Wiki page at voip-info to post issues, firmware news, etc. I really like the wealth of info on the GXP-2000 page, so I wanted to start something similar for this phone. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Linksys%20WIP300 - My kit

Provisioning Linksys WIP330 phones
We're contemplating Linksys WIP 330 phones, but we're concerned about configuration effort. Does anyone have the file format for an XML file to configure this phone? We got auto-provisioning to D/L a file, but the XML file format seems to be a secret... Thanks, Michelle -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

We''re going to have problems keeping cookies across domains.
