Kickstart and aliased network interfaces
Hi,
small(?) problem here:
We have several servers which have aliased interfaces (e.g. gigabit: one
alias points to the net the backupserver is in, the other one "connects"
to the filer the machine needs for work).
So I'd like to generate this setup with kickstart (yes, I *could* do
that with cfengine or other tools, but want to have the general config
in kickstart).
Alas:

IBM ServeRAID Manager software
Hi there,
I'm in the process of installing Centos 5.2 on an IBM x236 w/
ServeRAID 7k I recently acquired to act as a samba file server. The
hardware has all passed various stress tests I could throw at it so
we're okay there.
My question is. Has anyone had any luck getting the latest IBM
ServeRAID Manager v9.0 working in CentOS? If so how?
ServeRAID Manager is based off Adaptec's

ServeRAID 4Lx - Plain 2.6.12.6 works - Xen not
Hi *,
I try to install Xen 3.0.0 on a IBM x342 with a ServeRAID 4Lx controller.
The box boots with "plain" 2.6.12.6 (aic7xx- and serveraid-support
included). It does not with a similar configuration of 2.6.12.6-xen0.
Any hints, boot options?

hardware raid vs fake raid
Hi,
Does anyone know how I can find out if an ibm serveraid 8k sas storage
controller (zero channel RAID) is a real hardware RAID controller and
supported in the standard CentOs kernel or is it a fake raid controller.
I am trying to decide if I should get the serveraid controller or go get
a 3ware controller.

CentOS 5.2 with IBM SERVERAID 6i
I need to install CentOS 5.2 on a IBM Server xSeries 226, which comes
with a IBM SERVERAID 6i RAID card. I think it is not a true hardware
RAID card. I has, nevertheless, an interesting feature: 128MB of cache
with battery backup.
I launched the CentOS boot DVD and CentOS correctly identified the
card and the RAID 5 array as configured by the controller's BIOS.
My question now is:

IBM ServeRAID M5014 and CentOS 5.5
Hi all,
we are about to buy some IBM x3550 M2 servers with ServeRAID M5014 SAS
onboard controller. Can anyone confirm that these controllers will work
with CentOS 5.5 (seems to be some rebranded LSI controller).
I cannot find any hint in the 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 sources...

Peter

CentOS, ISDN and Fax ...
Hey guys,
is anyone of you using CentOS (4/5) for an ISDN fax gateway? I just had
someone over here at the CentOS booth who wanted to know if there's a
possibility to integrate the AVM CAPI into CentOS and then use the
machine as a fax gateway with 2, 3 or 4 S0 buses.
Is that possible?
Cheers,
Ralph

FAQs and Wiki
$TZ greetings.
General questions: Should the FAQs on
<http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/index.php> be migrated into the
wiki or should they stay where they are at the moment or should they be
just duplicated into the wiki so they can be found at two places?
If everbody (here) thinks that they should move into the wiki: Is there
a possibility to get all questions and answers in one go?

Wiki: CentOS Media Sightings
Hi,
I just started a new page on the CentOS wiki called "InTheMedia"
<http://wiki.centos.org/InTheMedia>. I'd like to collect sightings of
CentOS in all (linkable) media formats on that page, like newspapers,
news tickers, magazines on the web or even TV and Radio.
If you've seen some report on the news about CentOS and you have a link
- send this link and a short
