Looking for a commercial version of an IAX2 Softphone
Hello All, I have been looking for a commercial version of an IAX2 Softphone for Windows but the ones I have came across (i.e. Iaxcomm, Iaxphone, Diax) do not seem to have an updated version since April 2004 in some cases. We looked at Firefly but we sent emails to Virbiage/Freshtel with questions and could never get a response from them. Has anyone got any recommendations for commercial

Hi together, I try to find a softphone (freeware) solution for Windows 32, that works without problems ... Right now I use iaxcomm wich was best, of the ones I tried. But I have one problem with it. When I turn on qualify, it will not connect to the asterisk. This is also documented and normal behaveor. But if I turn of qualify, iaxcomm does not reconnect to the server, when the server got

Iax Client Library Issues? (DIAX, iaxComm, etc.)
Hi, I seem to be having problems with IAX clients based on the iaxClient library. I have been working on my own client (an augmentation to the Call Manager I released last week) and it seems to regularly miss incoming calls entirely. It also occasionally misses the drop signal when the remote end drops a call. Has anybody else seen this kind of behavior? I have tested with my client, with

iaxclients missing calls
Hello All When I open up iaxcomm, it registers fine with the asterisk server. If I call into it, iaxcomm will ring; however if I leave iaxcomm sitting idle for awhile (I haven't figured out exactly how long) it seems to miss calls. I can see the calls coming in on the asterisk server but they never ring through on iaxcomm. If I close it and reopen it, it takes calls again fine. I thought I

IAX softphone issues
Hi Folks, I'm trying to get DIAX to work as an IAX soft phone and I'm having some issues. Outbound calls from the phone to the rest of the world are fine. It's just that I can't get the inbound to work. I have a stanza in my extensions.conf that reads; exten=>_3410,1,Dial(IAX2/3444@default|20) And a stanza in my iax.conf that reads [3444] type=friend context=default

Recommended IAX softphone.
After having been toying around with asterisk and various VoIP stuff for a couple of weeks now, I want to recommend a preferred protocol and softphone to friends and family for calling me up. As SIP and H323 are such a mess to set up in NATed environments, the only reasonable protocol option right now seems to be IAX. After looking at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+IAX+clients and trying

SER vs Asterisk for SIP
Why is SER considered a better SIPserver than asterisk , why is it that SER can handle more clients than asterisk can. And if this is just cause of say poor SIP handling code in asterisk then is there anything being done to fix it. Just wanted to know why SER claims to be better than asterisk as a SIP server. ? -- regards Vikram (http://www.vicramresearch.com)
