Need new way to improve SMP scalability for network router
Hi,
Currently I use dual cpu xeon server x86-64 with hp enabled
two intel Gbit Nics 82547
I have assigned every NIC irq to one phisical procesor but the two
virtual procesors stay idle
and are not used for ether routeing or shaping
Is there a way to split work from two NICs on 4 CPUs ?

Zaptel timing on TE405P
Hi,
I'm wondering why zttest shows
Best: 99.976 -- Worst: 99.967 -- Average: 99.971469, Difference: 99.971469
Shouldn't it be 100% as timing is hardware and comes from PRI? Am I
missing some kernel config?
Regards,
Atis
My /etc/zaptel.conf is

[newbie] mesuring adequation of normal distribution with a variable
Hello,
I'm looking for a way of mesuring the adequation of a given variable with
the normal distribution. Does R provide a standard test for this purpose,
or is there a statistical methodology?

Could Asterisk be crashing under high context switches?
Hello!
I have been struggling with Asterisk 1.6 and DAHDI for the past few weeks. We are an outgoing call center with 30 internal analog phones hooked up to 2 Rhino CB24 channel banks. The banks are connected to a Rhino R4T1 card in a Dell 2950 server with 8 gigs of RAM. The 2 other ports on the R4T1 go to our 2 PRIs.
In this configuration, we have trouble maintaining stability. It may be fine

user-group mapping not inherited from Windows-Domain?
Dear
I have the following Problem:
we have a windows domain (WIN2000 SP1), and a samba Server, acting as a
mere client. So the WIN-DOMAIN is just used for user-to-group mapping
and user authentification.
Authentication on the samba-Server works, ACL inheritance works.
What I would like to do, is to allow write access to ceratin groups,
wich are defined in the windows domain. Other groups may

Hello everyone,
First i explain my aim. I would like to calculate the frecuency of

* Configuration
Hi,
I am a beginner to Asterisk. Can anybody clear my following doubts regarding
the configuration needed?
1) What is the ideal system configuratin required?(like processer, RAM, h/d
space etc)
2) How many connections it can handle at a time?
3) How many Virtual PBXs it can handle?
4) Whether Postgres or Mysql is best suited?
5) How many IVR's it can handle simultaneously?
6) How many

Things are working but the playback sounds that I hear when tring to connect
over IAX are of very high frequency.
i.e a sentence which should finish in 4 secs finishes in much lesser time.
Where can be the problem? any configuration issue?
Thanks in advance.

echo cancel from telco
I get an echo when going from a SIP phone to a PRI trunk. I hear the
echo on the SIP phone. From reading some other post I think that I need
to tell me phone company to turn on echo canceling. If the echo was on
the other end than it would be my problem?
Is this right? What exactly should I say to my phone company so they
know exactly what I'm talking about?

I have read all the samba docs available, so aim looking for others tips

[LLVMdev] thumb2 has divide instructions
OK, here's a patch that follows your suggestion. I'm not an authorized
developer, so I can't commit it myself. The test case is also attached again.

Calculate x-values from a spline
Hello,
I calculate splines from messured points(x,y) of an unknown function f(x).
e.g.
x <- c(0.004115, 0.012345, 0.037037, 0.111110, 0.333330, 1.000000)

f <- smooth.spline(x,y,w)
Now I have y-values and want to calculate the x-value(s) from this spline.

[LLVMdev] symbols for exception handling
mips16 has some unusual requirements for label symbols in .s.
I think that arm thumb has the same issue but have not located yet how
this is handled.
When you have a label of an instruction in mips16, when you reference
the label, the linker
adds a 1 to the address. When you call an odd numbered address, the
procesor switches to mips16 mode and when you call an even numbered
address it

Genstat into R - Randomisation test
Hello everybody,
I have a question. I would like to get a correlation between
constitutive and induced plant defence which I messured on 30 plant
species. So I have table with Species, Induced defence (ID), and
constitutive defence (CD). Since Induced and constitutive defence are
not independant (so called spurious correlation) I should do a
randomisation test. I have a syntax of my
