RE: Is the 2.6 Linux kernel ready for production * environment
I was wondering what peoples thoughts are about this. It seem that * works just as well on Linux 2.6 as 2.4. Maybe a few small issues here and there but generally it seems to me that * is just as stable on either platform. 2.4 is the obvious choice for the highest possiblility of a stable well tested environment but 2.6 seems to have some enticing benefits. Can Linux 2.6 be considered a

RE: Noise on ZAP channel
I have a couple SIP phones on a PIII 1Ghz 256MB * server with a TDM01B connected to the PSTN. Calls between SIP phones are clear. Calls to the PSTN are quite noisy. The other person does not hear noise but I hear quite a bit. It is not an annoying sound but definitely much noisier than typical PSTN or even cell phone calls. I believe I have a TDM400P REV H card. I definitely don't

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
I came into this with my eyes wide open. I have read ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING there is to be found on the net about avoiding echo problems BEFORE I even attempted to create a production system. Since lots of people are apparently using this in production environments now I just assumed that echo IS avoidable. As others have recommended, I created a test system with the proposed production

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scare d
dude it's gotta be something with your system. Im using same setup at home with a TDM22 with no probs. Asterisk@Home 1.5, Compaq Deskpro EN P3 500, cordless phones. You did a ton more than I did, I basically plugged everything in and installed a@h.Worked first try. Hate to say it, but would it be possible to try a different system? Even an old system as long as it is PCI 2.2. The big clue

RE: Is the 2.6 Linux kernel ready for produc tion * environment
uname -a Linux asterisk 2.6.10-1.1771_FC2smp # 1 SMP Mon Mar 20 01:10:51 EST i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Processing hundreds of calls & faxes a day. No problem. If you are going to use a Fedora box make sure you yum update right after install then the kernel sources symbolic link is not horribly broken as it used to be. Otherwise, just go. -----Original Message----- From: canuck15 To:

DUNDi Install
Does any one know how to install DUNDi on the v1-0 CVS export? I'm not sure what to download, what packages I need, etc. Thanks! -Justin -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... How to start ztmonitor in 'quantitative' mode ?
To start ztmonitor in quantitative mode you do the following. Assuming you are running Asterisk V1.0.9 you need to edit one line to ztmonitor.c in /usr/src/zaptel as per patch 2783 http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0002783 Change line 261 fprintf(stderr, "Usage: ztmonitor <channel num> [-v] [-f FILE]\n"); to fprintf(stderr, "Usage: ztmonitor <channel

TDM400P not detecting hangup and not hanging up
Canuck15, No, I hadn't played with the gains. But I've now done so and no difference unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though. I have discovered that after Asterisk has answered the call and the remote caller has hung up, if I lift the receiver on a phone connected to the line (in parallel with Asterisk), Asterisk then DOES instantly hang up. Would it be reasonable to assume the

aastra 9133i DTMF tones
Hey - I know there's some other people out there that have the 9133i ... has anyone gotten the DTMF tones to work after the far side picks up? I didn't have any problems out of the box with my SPA-841 phones... the aastra has been nicer so far, but I can't seem to get it to dial the touch tones after an auto-answer device picks up on the far side... I googled, to no avail. -Karl

Mac Test
R 1.4.0 is now sinking into feature freeze, and I'd like some help testing it under Macintosh (from Sys 8.6 to X). I've put a copy of R140b1 at http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~iacus/R there are two files: R140b1.sit and R140b1.sit.hqx download only one of the two. Many tests have been done but you help will be precious. Several things have been changed or implemented both in R internals

Question on CAR appendix on NLS
The PDF file on the web, which is an appendix on nonlinear regression associated with the CAR book, is very nice. When I ran through the code presented there, I found something odd. The code does a certain model in 3 ways: Vanilla NLS (using numerical differentation), Analytical derivatives (where the user supplies the derivatives) and analytical derivatives (using automatic differentiation). more cpu intensive echo cancellers ?
Hi, I've had some decent luck with the mark3 echo canceller from the zaptel driver, echos on about 20% of the calls, people I've called say I sound great now, but our side hears echos. I was wondering if there was any way to tweak the current software cancelers into using more CPU (and hopefully doing a better job, close to a hardware canceler), I only have 10 lines, and a single call

[lldb-dev] Trying out lld to link windows binaries (using msvc as a compiler)
Hi, No I didn't, I used cl.exe from the visual studio toolchain. What I'm proposing is a tool for processing .obj files in COFF format, reading them and generating the GHASH part. To make our build faster we use hundreds of unity build files (.cpp's with a lot of other .cpp's in them aka munch files) but still have a lot of single .cpp's as well (in total something like 3.4k

Multiple E1s on one box
Hello all, Has anyone tried 8xE1 in one box using Asterisk and Digium boards ? What is the CPU needed for sustained performance in this capacity ? Is this affected if G.729 codec is used ? Regards, Jorge A.

[lldb-dev] Trying out lld to link windows binaries (using msvc as a compiler)
You probably don't want to go down the same route that clang goes through to write the object file. If you think yaml2coff is convoluted, the way clang does it will just give you a headache. There are multiple abstractions involved to account for different object file formats (ELF, COFF, MachO) and output formats (Assembly, binary file). At least with yaml2coff It's true that yaml2coff
