Using RedirectAction with queues
Hello! Is it legal to use RedirectAction to redirect a call that is waiting in a queue? The idea is to have an external application manage a queue via manager API. The queue would merely collect calls and play moh. I've tryed this already but asterisk sends SIP/Forbidden to the channel in queue, after the channel has been redirected by RedirectAction, even though the response to

[Slightly OT] Does TE110P (a 32-bit PCI) fit into PCIe x8 slot?
Hello! Does TE110P (a 32-bit PCI) fit into PCI Express x8 slot? I'm thinking of buying a Sun X2100 and it has a PCI Express x8 slot. Or perhaps, does Digium produce PCI Express E1 cards? Thanks in advance!

ADIT 600 <=> Asterisk Help
I've been reading the Google searches trying to understand how to tie together Adit 600 to Asterisk to provide 2 way service. I'm about blind from reading. I assume, the answer is using MGCP between the boxes. However, the examples I found don't really explain fully enough to know how to modify examples to work for me. I'll have in the ADIT with T1's. There is a CMG and

Asterisk analog DID with Adit 600
Hello All, I'm trying to connect Asterisk to an Executone phone system with an analog DID card and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. The Executone DID card provides battery to the telco, when the telco wishes to dial a DID it goes off-hook, waits for a wink from the Executone and then dials the last three digits on the number with pulse (as opposed

Activate/Deactivate Hardware echo cancellation on TE406/TE411 when briging
Hi, How would one activate/deactivate hardware echo cancellation on the TE406 card? Can it be done per channel? I'm going to run TE406 in the following scenario: ISDN -> TE406 -> PABX I understand from Steve Underwood's site that echo cancellation is not good for faxes (and they do that themselves). So what I want to do and bypass echo cancellation for selected extensions before

ADIT 600 & CMG <=> Asterisk question
I've searched but can't find an answer as to how many MGCP paths can a single ADIT/CMG card support? It appears it's only 24 ports, maybe 48. What I'd like to do is install 6 Telco T1's into a single (or more) Adit 600 and route inbound calls towards asterisk. Can I have more than one CMG in a single chassis? Or maybe you know of a better way to connect T1's to

100 analog phones?? HOWTO?
Does anyone know the best approach to take for handling 100 analog phones? It seems to me that a chassis like Carrier Access or Adtran would work. The chassis would do much of the hard work of converting the analog sound to data. Any recommendations on hardware for the chassis? ...Jeff

sidetone noticeably loud on analog handsets on T100P
Hi guys, I've run into a problem that I can't figure out on a bunch of handsets I have running into a Rhino Equipment 24-port FXS channel bank hooked up to a T100P and running asterisk-0.9.0 and the associated stable Zaptel release. The sidetone (your own voice that you hear in your handset, built in for comfort) is noticeably louder than it should be, and it doesn't seem to

Stacked Area Plot
Hi: I've searched the archives and the Internet for hours but have yet to find a way to do stacked area plots (like the kind in Excel) in R. I think that polygon may work but it would require a bit of manipulation of my data. I was hoping for an easier way. An example of what I'm trying to do can be found here: http://jcharts.sourceforge.net/samples/stackedArea.html Thanks, Josip

analog or sip ? was far end disconnect supervision
Thanks to everyone that responded to my channel bank question. Ive decided that the Adit 600 would be a good choice. Then I got to thinking about SIP phones and wondered if their quality has progressed to the point that they can be deployed to customers who "just want their phones to work" and wouldn't tolerate any SIP hickups. As for pricing, I would think the SIP phones would

Channel bank replacement
Hello, I am working for a charity in the UK and I am projecting a new phone system. We would like to connect our two-wire telephones (40 or so) to an ADIT 600 channel bank, and connect that into an Asterisk box via the CMG card or T1 card. I have been in talks with Carrier Access about the purchase of a new channel bank and we tried to get a minor version of it first for testing with the

success story: TE406P (quadspan with hardware echocan)
I just wanted to post here and let everyone know that the TE406P (quadspan T1/E1 with hardware echo can) kicks some serious ass. We've been running a PRI now for over a year with Asterisk (every single call in and out is through two Asterisk boxes, including faxes) and while the software based echo cancellation is more than adequate, we'd get the occassional "edgy" echo and

Invite after bye?
Hi there noticed a strange thing in asterisk 1.6.2x 1.6.1x after one of the clients sends bye asterisk first sends invite to other side then after 200 ok it sends bye I am not sure but that could be some missconfiguration issue or a bug? so it's like this: side A sends bye to asterisk, asterisk responds with 200 OK to side A, then it sends INVITE to side B, expects 200 OK

Which analog phones to use and why?
Hello! Now that I finally have my TDM board working, I want to move forward with using PBX functions. However, it seems cumbersome to use standard POTS telephones with Asterisk. I know that there are many of you installing even large systems based on channel banks and analog telephones. What phones are you using? How do you simulate phone system features on a phone that doesn't have

4+ Port FXS Analog Device
I'm looking for an inexpensive way to connect 20 analog phones to asterisk. I could get a bunch of Linksys or Sipura boxes but was wondering if there is a more cost effective way? I came across the Mediatrix 1104 and even the Mediatrix 1124 but that comes out to be almost $100/port. I might as well buy inexpensive IP phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Waldo
