FC3 or FC1 (or something else?)
Hi
I wish to install asterisk 1.2 (the latest tar.gz from the site ....not the
CVS version) on an HP box with a TE110P (single port E1/T1)
My question is which OS would be preferred in this configuration Fedora Core
1 or Fedora Core 3, and are there any install guides out there that are
recent enough for asterisk 1.2
I am also open to suggestions for other Operating Systems if any of you feel

'make rpm' problem
Hey all,
I just tried running a 'make rpm' on a fresh install of Fedora Core 4
and ran into an error near the end of the build process. This is the
output of the build when the error occurs:
done
rm -f /tmp/asterisk/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/sample-hold.mp3
mkdir -p /tmp/asterisk/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/1234/INBOX

fc3 build after kernel update?
Updated the kernel on a fc3 box from 2.6.9-1.667 to 2.6.12-1.1372_FC3
today. Now the cvs-head for zaptel won't compile (libpri and asterisk does).
The problem seems to be a symlink issue with the zaptel/Makefile looking for:
KSRC:=/lib/modules/$(KVERS)/build
and it doesn't exist. The kernel source for 2.6.12 was applied succesfully
(supposedly) but a find on "build" does not

compiling Asterisk 1.2 with zaptel and h.323
Hello list,
I have prepared a small recipe on how to compile Asterisk 1.2 beta 1 with
a TDM400 card and H.323.
You can find it at http://www.oinko.net/astrecipes/index.php?n=102
Any comment / suggestion / modification /bugfix is welcome!
I was wondering: is there any way to build a version of Bristuff for 1.2
beta 1?
Bye for now,
l.

Asterisk PBX in Debian
Hi everyone.
I've installed Asterisk PBX using apt packages, but i don't have actually
any Digium card, so i want to use ztdummy.
I've tried to modify the Makefiles in the debian source package, i don't get
any error, but still the ztdummy module doesn't get compiled.
Does anybody has idea how to get the ztdummy module using the debian package
system?
Thanks for your help.

Beronet app_saynumber-beta-rc1
Hi list!
Do anybody has success histories about using the Beronet app_saynumber
application? For those that are hearing about for the first time, it?s a
piece of software that enables the use of another language in say_number
commands in asterisk dialplan or AGI scripts.
Link to download:

in a few cases am not sure if they are still (or were ever) needed.

monitor using incorrect path
Hello,
I have been noticing the following behaviour with the monitor command..
Normally it records to the default location and then uses soxmix to
create the correct wav file.
But for some reason sometimes it doesn't use
/var/spool/asterisk/monitor/.. but //var/spool/asterisk/monitor/..
(notice the 2 // in front!)
Here is some logging:

hangs on dovecot test77, mutt
Hi
My toy mail server runs dovecot. My client is mutt, which I use normally
use a a remote screen session. I normally connect to imap locally:
account-hook imap://localhost/ 'set tunnel="/usr/local/bin/imap-local"'
After a long frustration from the new mail notification in 0.99, I have
decided to bite the bullet and try the -test series. Ever since I have
not had stable mutt

How to let ZAPHFC work with and act on different incoming MSNs?
Hi all,
I'm struggling some time now with this problem. Googling and searching
on this topic did not deliver the answer yet, so my last hope is this
list.
Analogue to the things which are possible with modem.conf, where I can
configure the MSN's to act on, I would like to have similar
functionality.
This is the idea:
I have 1 ISDN line, it can be reached by 4 different MSN's.

TE110p and pri_cpe signalling not recognized
Hi guys,
I've been installing and configuring a TE110p card. The compile and
install went very well. I'm using this on FC4 and I compile with
linux26 as well checked I on the udev configs.
zttool and ztcfg both indicate that the card is ready.
But when I try to "load chan_zap.so" then I get the following

Motherboard and processor recommendations
I agree, use either SCSI with hardware raid with a battery backed cache
or use sata/ide with linux software raid. Linux raid SCSI also works
well, but if you go for the scsi drives might as well get the controller
too.
The "firmware" raid on the cheap sata/ide cards have left me stranded
several times, I have had experiences were both an HP and Promise IDE
raid controller have SCRAMBLED
