7970 CTLFile.tlv?
I've got a Cisco 7970 that's not completing its network registration to Asterisk. The "Registering" message stays on the screen (with the moving time wheel). After a few minutes, the onscreen message flashes "Updating CTL" then "Loading...", then the status messages update with: No valid CAPF server File Not Found: CTLFile.tlv No CTL installed

Cisco 7970
I currently have two Cisco phones, a 7960 and 7970. The 7960 has a SIP OS on it and the 7970 has a SCCP. When the 7960 powers up it loads OS79XX.TXT, SIPDefault.cnf, SIP000E3875266C.cnf, RINGLIST.DAT, and dialplan.xml. I have a Cisco SmartNet agreement with the phone so I have access to download the firmware. I recently purchased a Cisco 7970 phone and was in the process of configuring

Cisco 7940 -60 firmware upgrades
This for the archives in case it may help someone: I was able to upgrade two Cisco 7940's from firmware P0030301MFG2 to SIP 7.1 as follows: 1. Installed 7.1 images from the Cisco zip file to the TFTP server. 2. Specified "image_version: P0S3-07-1-00" in SIP<MAC>.cnf and SIPDefault.cnf 3. For the older of the two phones, renamed P003-07-1-00.bin to P0S3-07-.bin, making it

Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

chan_skinny & XML Files for 7920
Hi, I have a Cisco 7920 that I'm trying to get working with my * box. When the phone boots it requests XMLDefault.cnf.xml and SEP<MACADDRESSHERE>.cnf. I assume I set the line number, etc in the latter of the two. However I cannot find any reference to how this file is structured. Anyone know? I assume this is why I'm getting the errors below: Oct 17 19:47:24

If anyone on the list has one I sure would appreciate it if you could send me a copy. If you prefer to email it privately please use my "from" email address without the "-list". The reason I'm asking is that I have upgraded a bunch of 7911

7970 sip success
I managed to upgrade the phone to 8.2.2SR1 after renaming jar70sip.8-2-2ES1.sbn to Jar70sip.8-2-2ES1.sbn but the phone would continually say "Registering" and the red X next to the phone icon. The phone would eventually time out and couldn't make incoming or outgoing calls. Then I disabled registering with the proxy with the following line in the config:

Cisco 7970 + New Firmware (8.2)
Hi All, Found out Cisco has some newer firmware available for the 7970 series of phones. New sip images are at version level 8.2 (instead of 8.0.2,8.0.3,8.0.4), posted Dec 10, 2006. This major jump in version numbers has fixed a few bugs (time zone not updating properly), but hasn't figured what some would consider to be showstoppers (registration not fully working, and mwi still not
