FW: Polycom 501 issue with latest firmware : sluggish keys
Somebody was helpful enough to give me the very latest release of Polycom's firmware (2.1.0). Unfortunately, I still get that issue. So I'm stuck asking again: Anybody ever got that? Polycom 501 issue with latest firmware : sluggish keys
Hi, I've upgraded a few Polycom 501 to SIP 2.0.3b (can't get 2.1.0 because of Polycom's firmware policy, but this is the "latest publicly available" from Polycom's web site). I've noticed that some keys get "sticky" though. Soft buttons for example (i.e. "end call") need to be pressed 2-3 times for them to react. I've downgraded to

Do I need any special cable for Polycom or normal Ethernet cable? Regards Bilal

Cisco 7960 upgrades
Hi, I got a problem of having to upgrade 35 Cisco 7960 phones from default firmware of 3.1 to 7.5. The problem I get is that when trying to upgrade I see on the tftplog that it can't seem to find the file (8 character issue). So I renamed the files to suit what is supposed to be in them. I am trying incremental upgrades from 3.1 -> 5.3 -> 7.5, with no luck. It goes to

Polycom Firmware -- Was: Asterisk 1.4 & Polycom buddy status
> I ran into this problem with an early batch of IP650s. Polycom's firmware > version 2.0.3b made this issue go away. Speaking of Polycom firmware, anyone have an up to date source for the stuff? The site I ordered from took down their FTP site that had it. :( -Kenneth

Remote employees using Polycom 501 lose
The Polycom's need to have their registration time lowered. Set it to 60 seconds which will re-register every 30 seconds. The polycom doesn't have any sort of 'keep alive' feature to keep the NAT holes open. There is information on the wiki fruther describing this and how to set it up if you don't know where to look. p From: "Von L." <methodvon@gmail.com> To:

Dell Server suggestion
Hi, I am in need of ordering a new server here for our asterisk solution. Since the corporate standard is Dell we need to stick to a dell server. We used to deploy 2900III without any issues, however now they are almost not available any more and are looking at a new solution. Has anyone tried any of the new Dell R (series) servers with Asterisk, utilizing Digium PRI cards? The biggest issue I

Good provider of Polycom Phones (mostly for accessto latest/greatest firmware)
Stay away from Alliance Systems. We ordered $15k worth of Polycom's over a month ago and we're still waiting. Our account rep's communication with us on what the delay has been, has been terrible. Cisco 9971
Hi, I am having a weird issue with a Cisco 9971 phone. I managed to get most of it working, including the side car, however one of the issues is that there seems to be some sort of side tone / beep occurring roughly every 13 seconds or so, as if the phone is activated with call waiting. However none of this is activated and is still making the annoying beeping side tone. The phone does require

TDM04B, trunk group
Hi, I am just trying to figure out how to setup a TDM04B card for incoming/outgoing calls. I have 4 lines, which are provided as a rotary trunk group, currently hooked into a Nortel system, which asterisk will replace. I have setup a Dell 1800 (Tower) system with the TDM04B card, which seems to work. The question is how do I set it up that all 4 lines are part of a trunk group, such that

Digium TE121P + DAHDI
Hi, Just trying to figure out / solve some echo issues with one of our systems. The server is a Dell R710 running Asterisk 1.6.x and Dahdi 2.2.x The card in the server is a TE121P (with VPMADT032 echo canceller) We are experiencing some weird echo issues with our Cisco 79xx phones, only when we are dialing out via the PRI. The echo is like a side tone, where we can hear ourselves speaking. The

HiPath 4000 and Asterisk
Hi all, I'm trying to setup Asterisk trunk to Siemens HiPath 4000 V2.01 What would be the best way to do so? I am a bit confused because as far as I've understand this PBX doesn't support H323, but I saw somewhere someone who created a cornet trunk and it worked using H323. So if anyone knows what I need to configure I would appreciate it. I've read some information

PolyCom IP3000, gnugk and * audio problems
Current setup: Polycom IP3000 <-> gnugk <-> asterisk <-> Cisco 7940 Asterisk and gnugk are on 10.20.98.6 IP3000 is H.323, using G.711 (10.20.98.2) 7940 is SIP, using g711ulaw (10.20.98.3) I've been asterisk for a while now, only using SIP devices. I'm happy with that side of things, but I've not used H.323 before this week, in trying to get the IP3000 to work. *
