If anyone anyone has some suggestions (Ha... that is like going to an NRA meeting ans asking if anybody has a gun :-) ) please forward them to me (and / or post here although, with the volume of this

Prompt recording
Does anybody have useful tips on creating good quality recordings for use with prompts in asterisk? I'm interested in hearing input on hardware (mics, dats, sound cards, etc) and software (recording software, dsp) as well as recording techniques. Jerimiah Tularosa Communications

Voice Prompts, what do you think? Good voice. Should we record a new prompt-set?
Hello all, I have someone working for me who has a nice phone voice. I looked at some available prompts for asterisk, and found both the free and commercial ones to be pretty horrible. The asterisk ones are good, but I wish I had more to choose from sometimes. My question is, what do you think, should I bother having her record a full spectrum of prompts for asterisk? If you want to hear her

Change of default IVR prompt for meetme conference bridge.
Hi, Is it possible to change the default voice prompt for Asterisk meet me conference bridge. We have our own customized recordings for Welcome and PIN request and would like to use that instead of the default "Please enter your.. " . If I replace the default sound file with my custom file by using the same filename as the default message, will it affect any other applications..??

TDM400P - All extensions have same CallerID
I've been searching the forums and on the list to see if this has been addressed. If it has, could someone point me to the thread to fix or at least acknowledge it is an issue and what is causing it. Posting to the list was last resort as I couldn't find a solution anywhere else. Setup: Asterisk@Home 1.3 (this is my first system, so path of least resistance) Digium TDM400P (2 FXS on ports

Distorted audio over Eicon Diva Server BRI
We are experiencing slightly distorted audio with playing of recordings on our Asterisk server when the call comes in over our Eicon Diva Server BRI card. An example is an incoming call to IVR and playing some of the standard Asterisk voice prompts. Note that there is no audio problem with internal access to the same recording. Neither is there a problem with calls not involving the playing of

dialplan announcements
Hey all, I tried to do some searching but I found snippets and I am having trouble putting it all together. I want to have an option off the IVR that plays back the announcement for the day. At the end of the message, I want the caller to get kicked back to the previous menu. The conditions are that I want the recorder to dial a feature code that prompts him to record the message. He

Crackly Prompts but Voice OK
Server A has 4 PRIs coming into it, and provides a SIP connection to Server B. When we call into server B via a DID from one of Server A's PRIs, we get crackly sound on recorded playback only (prompts, IVR, voicemail instructions, etc.), but not on actual live voices once you're talking. Server A provides this same service to other servers and problem does not appear in those cases.

something is wrong with gsm prompts format
Hello, after upgrading my asterisk from cvs few days ago I discovered that all my anddefault asterisk voice messages/prompts was played wrong - they was played so slowly ... and the IVR system wasn't usable at all. Today I upgraded everything: a fresh cvs copy, made make install and make samples - but after that the problem with IVR was the same: ALL default asterisk sounds in gsm format

Stupid question about recording prompts
I am, as this question will make very obvious, not exactly a guru when it comes to audio under Linux. I'd like to record some prompts using a nice microphone and my Ensoniq sound card, and then convert them to gsm/wav for use with asterisk. What Linux command would I use to a) do the recordings, and then b) convert them to the appropriate formats? I know there are

Thanks for the feedback. I did some research and it looks like you were calling over international lines. It also appears that there was high than average static on the line, which is not normal for my system. It's true that I threw my recordings together quickly and the beep was supposed to be funny - it was actually me saying "beeeeeep". However, the static and noise you received
