PublicFolders using Maildir and INDEXPVT in Dovecot v2.2.13
Dear all,
we have succesfully configured Dovecot v2.2.13 in debian wheezy 7.8
(using backports)
using Maildir structure, to use private index files for the \Seen flag
on a per user basis.
All users access their emails and Public Folders using IMAP protocol.
The problem is that when a user moves an email from publicFolderA to
publicFolderB under the same namespace
the other users see this

Concatenate a mix of numbers and letters to create a vector name
Dear all,
I am trying to create a vector name, for example tmax.195012 from tmax., 1950 and 12. Obviously I don't wish to simply type it because the 3 name components are changing in each iteration within a loop. Is there any way of concatenating those 3 components (which are a mixture of numbers and letters)?
Thanks for reading,

filled.contour: colour key decoupled from main plot?
Dear R colleagues,
I am trying to plot some geophysical data as a filled contour on a continent map and so far the guidance from the R-help archives has been invaluable. The only bit that still eludes me is the colour key (legend) coming with filled.contour:
I prefer to generate my own colour palette, mainly based on the quantiles of tenths of the data in order to capture the whole range (of

User sets or anything similar?
Hello
I got about 20 different people using 20 different PC''s in my Lan. Five
of them should have unrestricted access to the internet any time of the
day. Yet the rest of them should only have access at certain timeframes
during the day. Two of them should have no access at all.
I am well experienced in writing rules (for the rules file) that make
all this possible, yet i was

DNAT works, yet extremely slow
Hello all
I wanted to forward all incoming requests in port 80 to a server in my LAN,
and by using DNAT lines, it actually works. However, it is unstable, in the
sense that in the beggining of each connection (one or two seconds) it is
extremely fast, then it sometimes pauses and waits 30 seconds or so, then it
starts again and so on.
The line i used is :
DNAT net loc:192.168.0.210 tcp 80

one (small) sample wilcox.test confidence intervals
Dear R people,
I notice that the confidence intervals of a very small sample (e.g. n=6) derived from the one-sample wilcox.test are just the maximum and minimum values of the sample. This only occurs when the required confidence level is higher than 0.93. Example:
> sample <- c(1.22, 0.89, 1.14, 0.98, 1.37, 1.06)
> summary(sample)

Missing source file ?
Hello to all,
I am trying to build speex for the Windows Mobile platform.
However I am not able to build it even on Windows x86 because a source
file (medfilter.c)
while declared in the project settings is missing. So linker cannot find
medfilter.obj and I am not able to build it.
Please could anyone tell me if this is an error that I should fix
manually (for example ignore the file and fix

Residuals in gls
Dear R-helpers,
I am doing a multiple linear regression of an ozone time-series on time and
other explanatory variables. I have been using the "lm" model but I am recently
experimenting with "gls".
With the "lm" model I was able to look at the residuals by $res in the "summary
(lm(...))" and then check with "acf" for autocorrelation in these

PublicFolders using Maildir and INDEXPVT in Dovecot v2.2
Do we have a way to keep the user \Seen flags in public folders
when an email is moved in another folder?
Sample test to reproduce:
Step a - UserA and UserB have both read the email in PublicFolderA.
Step b - UserA moves the email to PublicFolderB. UserA still sees the
email as read (with the \Seen flag), this is expected behaviour and we
are ok with this.
Step c - UserB sees the email in

OS X Client Can't move folders in share which contains different mounts?
I am not sure if anyone has the answer.
Here is the setup:
I am using redhat linux 9 with the latest rpm from www.samba .org
(3.0.6).
I am connecting to the linux server with a G4 running 10.3.5.
Once the share is mounted on the G4 using the appropriate smb://.etc
command. You get the little global and everything is good.
Opening the global will give you 2 folders.
Disk1 and Disk2.
Both these

Problems with rsync, large files and partial.
I can't seem to get rsync to restart where it left off
when I am syncing a large file (> 5GB). Below is some
info on what I have been doing. If someone has the
energy to barrel through my comments that would be
great. Out of curiosity is there an alternative to
rsync for large files?
I believe I looked all over the web for answers and I
found "partial" answers and just

Saving Shorewall Settings
Hi
I have recently being doing a lot of rebuilds recently.
Whats the best approach to saving a copy of the current firewall settings?
I think I am right in my understanding that "Shorewall Save" saves the
current settings of Iptables so that the state of Iptables can be
reinstated quickly if required, but doesn''t save any of the
configuration files like Rules, Policy etc.

Abandoned queue calls do not produce a CDR?
Hello everyone,
I've just upgraded from 1.6.1.9 to 1.6.2.13.
I have noticed that (after the upgrade) abandoned calls within the Queue
produce no cdr at all.
I am using unanswered = no (the default) in cdr.conf.
The call shows, as expected, in the queue_log as ABANDON
The dialplan is:
Ringing();
Answer(); // need to answer or no music!

Outgoing call answer confirmation
Using Digium's "Asterisk Developer's Kit (TDM)",
I've been trying to make an outside call by copying sample.call to /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing.
I want the VoiceMailMain to run when the call is answered.
The call is made correctly but, as you probably know, the application starts as soon as the call is made.
I see there are two solutions:

CDR on Transfer...
I have searched for some time but I have not found an asnwer on how to
fix the CDR when a call is transferred. The problem is that if someone
dials a cell phone and then transfers the call to another extensi?n the
CDR for the cell call stops and there is no way to track that the call
was transferred so we can bill correctly. Many people have asked this
question but there is no answer, only a
