IAX vs SIP - Getting Asterisk out of the media path
If a call comes into my Asterisk server on a DiD provided by an ITSP and the
dialplan sends that call to another external number throught the same ITSP's
network, I don't want the RTP packets to pass through my server once the
call is bridged.
I have had great success getting this to work using IAX, but I have not been
able to get this to work with SIP. The call is bridged OK (media at

multiple sip trunks with the same ITSP
HI LIST CAN U HELP ME
If there are multiple sip trunks with the same ITSP then an incoming call
is arbitarily matched to the last peer with the same host IP address. This
is not a serious problem because the DID is still correct but it does have
many insidious effects due to the incorrect channel name
Example
register=myaccount1 at sip.myitsp.com/line1

Asterisk behind OpenSER - Getting SIP reinvites to work with an ITSP
I'm using Asterisk (1.2.14, RedHat 9) but I've been having trouble with SIP
re-invites.
I have a DiD from an ITSP and when someone calls in, Asterisk plays a menu
recording and transfers the call to the external line the caller selects.
Since both sides of the call are external, I want to use re-invite to avoid
the rtp packets from going through my server after the call is bridged.

SIP Redirect from Asterisk behind a NAT
SetUp:
- Asterisk behind a NAT,
- Red Hat 9.0
- Asterisk 1.2.14
My Asterisk box is behind a NAT and I have a DiD from an ITSP. I have my
dial plan set up so that when outside callers dial the DiD, the call is
answered by my auto-attendant. The caller can then select who they'd like
to speak to and the call is transferred to the external line associated
with that person (usually a mobile

OT: MWI on Treo 600/650
My cell vm goes to asterisk, not the carrier. Apparently MWI is turned
on/off with specially formatted SMS messages. Anyone know how to do this
on a Treo 600? Having the phone light from Asterisk would be HUGE ...
not to mention extremely cool.

Lost 7960 time display on upgrade
I upgraded my 7960 to sip v 6.3 and my display time has now disappeared
from the top left corner.

Here is the section dealing with time in my SIPDefault.cnf file. Does
anybody see anything wrong with it or have any other ideas?

Cisco 7960 / SIP & tftp configs
I have three questions about my 7960 phone that I can't discern from the
docs/wiki.
1st - If I change the SIPxxxxxx.cnf file to change registrations it sets
up new lines as expected. If I delete a line it doesn't get removed when
I reboot the phone. I have to go to the phone, unlock it, and reset the
SIP parameters. How do I make it "forget" what it has programmed and

Re: Toronto
It looks like this meetup group is becoming the venue for contact as
most "Toronto" respondents have signed up here. Can I request that the
remainder who responded to the "Toronto" call signup?
Shidan is the organizer and has proposed a date. I'd hate to confirm it
without the remainder having input - especially those with travel times
like Andrew K. out in Listowel.

Asterisk registration SIP confusion. Can someone explain this?
We have an Asterisk v1.2.16 box registering with an ITSP using SIP. The
registration succeeds, and is confirmed with SIP SHOW REGISTER. However,
we frequently (every few minutes) see this on our console:
REGISTER attempt 1 to 999@pbx.itsp.com
REGISTER attempt 2 to 999@pbx.itsp.com
Any ideas what is going on? In particular
1. What causes the two register attempt messages above?
2. Why

SPA3000 as a replacement for X100P
I am still haveing problems (echo) with my X100P but I'm thinking it has
more to do with the server it is in which is not a negotiable item at
this time. My question then is to the use of SPA3000's as a replacement
from the FXO standpoint.
1. Can you setup the FXO port to recognize distinctinve ring and call a
different context like you can do with Zap channels? Being able to call

I am having trouble understanding how to use this. I want to transfer
certain incoming calls from an IAX ITSP based on caller ID. From what I
can make of the docs, I thought I need to do something like this...

exten => _NXXNXXXXXX,n,noop(boo,${TRANSFERSTATUS})
exten => _NXXNXXXXXX,n,hangup

Subseting in a 3D array
Hi!
I have a 3d array:
> dim(ib5km15.dbc)
[1] 190 241 19
and a set of positions to extract:
> ib5km.lincol.random[1:3,]
[,1] [,2]
[1,] 78 70
[2,] 29 213
[3,] 180 22
Geting the values of a 2D array
for that set of positions would
be:
> ima <- ib5km15.dbc[,,1]
> ima[ib5km.lincol.random[1:10,]]
but don't find the way for the case
of the 3D array:

dovcot+offlineimap+gmail: INBOX empty, mail doubled
Hello
I have used for years
offlineimap-6.2.0
dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9
in Kubuntu 10.04
Together with a imap server of my university. Yesterday we
switched to google, which I know, is not a real imap server.
I have 2 problems and the first I think has to do with
either an old version of offlineimap or a bad configuration file:
- All folders are downloaded+ Gmail[All Mail] so

Several doubts on Asterisk as an UAC
Hi,
I'm new to Asterisk and I've been trying to configure it to talk to
several SIP providers (such as FWD). I found that, although there are
some "recipes" on how to do it, there are few documents that really
explain *why* the settings are used, and overall I found very little
documentation on sip.conf.
I've been using this page as a reference:

IAX DIDs, Illinois
I have been looking at moving from SIP-based DID (Illinois) providers to
one that uses the IAX protocol for DIDs. After a search, I've come up
with the following:
http://connect.voicepulse.com -- $8/month, many rate-centers
http://www.iax.cc -- $1.50/month + 0.014/min, many rate-centers
Can that be all that there is? I like the pricing plan at iax.cc,
because it would allow me to set up

original & reformat extension
Question:
Naturally there are times when need to I reformat an extension in a context as such:
;Reformat add CC1
exten => _NXXNXXXXXX,1,Goto(1${EXTEN},1)
-or-
;Reformat 011 with with +CC
exten => _011X. ,1,Goto(+${EXTEN:3},1)
It's a helpful trick, BUT there are times when I want to send the call to another context in its original un-reformatted state. Naturally the ${EXTEN}

The following will do the trick. Just add a 5vdc solid state relay
('cause you can't sink too much current out of the RS232C port).
Substitute "2", "4" or "6" in the
